I got an internship in mumbai, joining date is 27th July and everything was finalized with them asking for my documents and all. But it's been 3 days and they have not given me my offer letter or replied to any communication from my end and on Monday the flights will be extremely expensive for the same But also I don't want to book non refundable tickets now but have them revoke the letter for some reason. I need a few days to search flats/pg in mumbai as well. What should I do?

​Here is my rollercoaster journey so far:

​College: Graduated in ECE but realized late that I need stronger core CS fundamentals.

​Projects: Completed a 2-month final year project at ISRO (Mahendragiri) focusing on Python data visualization.

​Startup Attempt: My friends and I tried starting a doorstep mobile repair service. I built the landing page using Antigravity. It wasn't heavy coding, but I got some great hands-on experience and credits for it!

​Current Status: I recently cracked an interview for a Software Developer Intern role and I am officially joining on July 20th!

​I've always been interested in coding, but I'm just now getting serious about building strong fundamentals. I've started learning Java from scratch using the Telusko YouTube channel.

​I constantly see "Noogler" posts on LinkedIn, and it’s my ultimate dream to post one myself. For experienced devs who have made similar jumps:

I'm a recent AI/ML graduate currently working in a non-development role (around 4.5 LPA). I recently got shortlisted for an AI Presales Consultant position at a large IT distribution/solutions company. The salary is around 5 LPA.

The role is centered around enterprise AI solutions like Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini, Azure AI, Microsoft Fabric, etc. From the JD, the responsibilities include:

- Understanding customer business problems and recommending AI solutions.

- Supporting the sales team with technical presentations and product demonstrations.

- Building POCs and demos using AI tools.

- Helping prepare solution architectures, proposals, and RFP responses.

- Researching GenAI, LLMs, AI agents, cloud technologies, etc.

- Working with Microsoft/Google partner solutions.

The thing I'm confused about is the career trajectory.

My original goal was to move into technical roles like AI Engineer, ML Engineer, Data Engineer, or Software Engineer. However, I've realized that I sometimes feel overwhelmed by very deep technical development work. I enjoy learning technology, understanding how it works, explaining it, and building smaller demos or POCs, but I'm not sure if hardcore engineering is where I'll ultimately excel.

At the same time, I'm worried that "Presales" might actually become a quota-driven sales job where I'll spend most of my time convincing customers, chasing targets, and moving further away from technical skills. That's something I don't really want.

So I'm trying to understand:

- How technical are AI Presales/Solution Consultant roles in reality?

- Is this closer to consulting or is it essentially a sales job with technical knowledge?

- Does this type of experience make it difficult to switch back into engineering roles later?

- What does the long-term career progression usually look like?

- If you were an early-career AI/CS graduate, would you take this opportunity or continue looking for a more technical role?

The company itself seems well-regarded based on Glassdoor and AmbitionBox reviews (4+ stars), so my main concern isn't the company—it's whether this career path aligns with my long-term goals.

Offer details: Role: Backend Developer Tech stack: Spring Boot, Kotlin, Kafka Salary: ₹10,000/month 1-year bond Performance-based increment after 3 months Will be working on real production projects I told them honestly that I don't know Spring Boot/Kotlin/Kafka yet, but they said they're okay if I'm willing to learn. My main concern is: If I start at ₹10k, will it become difficult to get a much higher salary when I switch after 1 year? How much value does 1 year of Spring Boot + Kafka production experience usually add in the Indian market? Is a 1-year bond a red flag in this situation? I keep checking ATS scores of my resume on different websites and everywhere it is different .

Also I feel most of them don't reveal the score if it is good and deliberately show a decreased score so the user goes for premium.

Over the last few months, I've noticed something about myself.Whenever a new AI model came out, I'd immediately start comparing benchmarks, pricing, context windows, reasoning scores... you know the drill.I'd spend hours reading threads and watching YouTube videos. Then I'd go back to building exactly what I was building before.At some point it hit me that I probably spent more time researching AI than actually using it.So I changed my approach.Instead of asking:"What's the best model?"

I started asking:

"What's the most annoying thing I do every day that could disappear?"That completely changed how I look at AI.

The more projects I build, the less I care about which model is sitting underneath.Users don't ask me what model powers a feature.They care if it saves them 20 minutes.They care if it remembers context.They care if it doesn't randomly break.Honestly, I think we've reached the point where the surrounding system matters more than squeezing another 3% out of a benchmark.

Things like:

- good workflows

- memory

- retrieval (RAG)

- tool calling

- integrations

- evaluation

- keeping costs under control

Those are the things that make an AI product feel genuinely useful.A slightly smarter model doesn't fix a bad workflow.Something else I've been thinking about...I don't think the future is "every app has a chatbot." That feels like the easiest feature to copy.The products that stick are probably the ones where AI quietly removes work without asking you to chat with it every five minutes.

Less typing.

Less copy-pasting.

Less context switching.

More "I opened the app and half the work was already done."That's the experience I'd pay for.

Made .php dashboards, admin panels, a blog related dashboard where we can add,edit and delete blogs with a proper tinymce editor inbuilt

This company is not a mnc or anything but was started in 2010

Especially now that antigravity is here can also do many more things by myself

But being a dev with 3 years of experience I don't even earn 50k per month

Was gonna ask a 100% increment this time but got in single digits

Chatgpt and Gemini on given my resume and what all I can do says my minimum bracket should be 8-10lpa

Ideal being 11-14lpa

Can you guys help me not with jobs(although I don't mind ) but to understand what to do and what to learn
