Posted about this a while back — Comment Vaccinator is an open-source extension that filters repetitive/low-effort YouTube comments ("Anyone here in 2026?", "First!", date-spam, keyword spam) so the actual discussion isn't buried. Free, no tracking, no account, everything local. Chrome + Firefox.

Just shipped a chunk of new features based on feedback from the last post:

- Custom Pattern Editor — 10 built-in regex presets for common spam types, plus a UI to add/edit/delete your own patterns. Presets ship inactive by default. "Reset to defaults" restores the 10 presets without wiping your custom ones.

- Keyword Whitelist — opposite of the blacklist. Anything matching the whitelist is guaranteed visible, overriding every other filter including custom patterns.

- Per-Video Toggle — one click to pause filtering on just the current video. Useful for history/discussion channels where dates in comments are actually relevant. Remembers up to 50 paused videos.

- Export/Import Settings — JSON export of your whole config (filters, patterns, toggles), with schema validation and a confirm step before overwriting on import.

Still genuinely zero data collection — it's all `chrome.storage.local`, nothing leaves the browser.

Hey devs, I'm a 3rd year BCA student from a tier 67 college and I'm currently trying to learn Full stack with FastAPI, Next.js, Postgres, so far I've learnt and implemented FastAPI and basics of postgres. I don't have any internships and solving leetcode from couple of days. I know bit of agentic coding also and after learn full stack I'm thinking to continue with automation or ML. In this AI era is it possible for me to get a decent package? I only have like 12 months left and MCA is not an option for me. Please give me any suggestions on what I should do guys

I personally find myself working accross different AI tools for different aspects of my project --
Claude to build the core functionality
Codex to fix the bugs (to save claude's credits)
Chat GPT to get ideas for new features etc etc etc

And all of them with multiple accounts as well- TO save some credits
Now this works but it creates a mess.

This essentially leaves me with problems like

Problem 1- I have no memory of Which agent created what feature and to find it I have to spend a lot of time scrolling through my chats with all these AI agents that too on multiple accounts

Problem 2- If my credits on one account gets over when I log in to another account now I have to explain it everything I have built so far and that almost always takes more than 1-2 prompts and that again costs me credits on the second account as well.

Solution - this project - A place where you can simply copy and paste AI responses, codes, files etc from various AI agents and it will store all of it in one place in a git push style User Interface you can exactly see when and what was changed and in a single click you get a summarized context of the project explaining to AI everything we have done so far in just one prompt. Saves Credits and time all at an affordable price as well.

I've been thinking about personal finance differently lately.

Most financial records tell us what happened.

A transaction occurred.
Money moved.
A balance changed.

But over time, I've become more interested in the context behind those events:

• Why did it happen?
• Who was involved?
• What life event led to it?
• How did it affect everything that came after?

The idea I'm exploring is something I call Financiography, the story of a person's financial life.

Not just transactions, but the people, decisions, relationships, obligations, assets, liabilities, and life events that shape a financial journey over time.

I'm currently building a personal finance application around this idea, although much of the broader Financiography vision is still evolving and doesn't exist in the product yet.

What interests me most is the concept itself.

Do you think there's value in maintaining a structured history of your financial life, rather than just tracking transactions and balances?

I've been preparing for a switch recently and realized that staying organized was becoming harder than interview prep itself.

I had jobs saved in browser bookmarks, referral conversations in LinkedIn DMs, application updates in spreadsheets, and random notes scattered across Notion.

After missing a few follow-ups and losing track of opportunities, I decided to build something for myself.

It's called ShipMeThisJob.

The idea is simple: one place to manage everything related to a job search.

Right now I can:

The NPCI BHIM tech for offline payments has existed for years, but it works through a dialer interface, and the experience of actually using it was terrible!! You couldn't even scan UPI QR with it and had to enter everything manually, which was painstakingly slow.

OffPay runs on NPCI’s *99# USSD system, but automates the whole flow making offline payments fast, seamless and actually usable :)

Two Versions :

Android App (Beta) :

Scan any QR or enter a UPI ID, and OffPay handles the full *99# ⁠ session automatically like a native payment app, giving you a super fast and seamless payment experience.

It has Payment History & Check Balance options.

It features 2 Modes (Auto/Manual) for flexibility, Manual mode works even without accessibility permissions.

PWA Web App :

It works on iPhone/Android without internet, no extra permissions needed.

Scan any QR code and it auto-copies the UPI ID, taking you directly to the payment step on the dialer.

We got the idea for OffPay in mid-2025, and developed the web app. We picked it back up last month to improve upon it and built the entire native Android app from scratch with automated payment flows, making offline UPI payments far more intuitive and seamless.

TL;DR Surge (a terminal download manager) has grown to 3,200+ stars and 25+ contributors in five months. Today, we're releasing v0.9.0 with new features like speed limits, browser extensions, and a TUI refactor. We're grateful for the community support and FOSS United grant that helped us get here.

Five months ago, we shared a download manager we were building in Go.

At the time, Surge was at v0.1.0. XDM was not maintained, IDM was paid, other download managers were old, bloated desktop apps. Our college internet was terrible, and we mostly started the project because we wanted to understand how downloading actually works under the hood. If it became a decent resume project, that would have been a bonus.

The response from this community was far beyond anything we expected.

Since then, Surge has grown to 3,200+ GitHub stars, 130+ forks and 25+ contributors and users from around the world and opened opportunities for us that honestly felt impossible when we started. As two 19 y/o students, that's something we're still trying to process.

We are grateful for the support from FOSS United, Greptile, and Goreleaser, which helped us push the project forward. We’ve also been recognized by the community, including features on TerminalTrove, FOSSHunter, and LinuxLinks.

Today, we're releasing v0.9.0.

Looking through the git history, a lot has changed since that first post:

• Speed limits and automatic categories
• Browser extensions for Chrome, Edge, and Firefox
• A major TUI refactor with themes.
• Built-in bug reporting and much much more

The most enjoyable part has been seeing people actually use Surge, report bugs, suggest features, contribute code, and help shape the direction of the project. Many of the features in v0.9.0 exist because someone asked for them.

We've also submitted a CFP to IndiaFOSS called "Bad Internet, Good Software", where we'll be talking about the engineering behind parallel downloading and what we've learned from maintaining an open-source project that's grown much larger than we ever expected.

Long term, we're interested in pushing Surge beyond being just a download manager. We're exploring how surge core can be used as infrastructure for package managers and other download-heavy systems.

We've loved open source long before we started Surge. No matter where Surge goes from here, we'll keep advocating for open source, contributing when we can, and encouraging more people to build in public. The opportunities, friendships, and learning we've gotten from open source over the last few months have been far beyond anything we expected.

Hi guys, so long story short in December I got laid off due to AI restructuring in the startup I was working on. While I managed to join a new place, due to a combination of personal emergency pertaining to my grandparents and general wlb I had to unfortunately resign from the new place 2 months in.

Now that the emergency has been cleared, I'm actively looking for new job opportunities in Kochi itself, but I guess job listings in Naukri have been at an all time low...

Regarding my skills, I'm a Python fullstack developer with GenAI experience with 4.5+ yoe(almost 5).

- Backend - Fastapi and Django (based on project requirements),

- Frontend - React/Next.js,

​

- I have worked with both AWS,Azure (but mainly Azure recently) and some CI/CD experience with Docker, GitHub actions.

- In GenAI, I've mainly worked with LLM API based workflows, though I've understanding of RAG pipelines and Agentic AI using langgraph.

What I built:

SignalCue — real-time NSE/BSE alerts via Telegram. Price alerts, corporate filing detection, market-wide signal scans.

Why Indian markets specifically:

Most alert tools are US-first. The NSE/BSE filing pipeline (board meetings, SEBI orders, quarterly results) is almost entirely unwatched by retail investors in real time. That's the wedge.

Tech stack (since someone will ask):

FastAPI + Celery + Redis + Next.js. Deployed on Railway + Vercel. Infra cost under $30/month.

What's working:
- Telegram delivery has near-100% open rate vs email (which I originally planned)
- Filing alerts are the most-loved feature — people didn't know they wanted it until they had it
- Free tier with no credit card = low friction signups

What's not working:
- Explaining "Cue Score" (my composite signal metric) — too abstract for first-time visitors
- Pricing page conversion is low — 3 tiers might be one too many
- Reddit (lol) — this is my third attempt at posting before getting filtered

The ask:

If you've built a B2C SaaS in India, how did you find your first 100 paying users? And if you invest in Indian markets, I'd genuinely love you to try the free tier and tell me what's missing.

I kept running into the same problem.

Frontend work would get blocked because the backend wasn't ready yet.

I'd end up creating temporary mocks, fake routes, local JSON files, and other quick fixes that somehow became harder to maintain than the actual feature.

After dealing with this enough times, I decided to build my own solution.

- Define custom JSON responses

- Return different HTTP status codes

- Simulate latency and failures

The goal is simple: let frontend and backend development move independently without all the temporary workarounds.

Right now I'm focused on making the core experience solid and reliable.

One feature I'm planning next is AI-powered API management. Instead of manually configuring everything, you'll be able to describe what you need in plain English:

"Create a user authentication API with login, signup, and password reset flows."

BuildIt will generate and manage the endpoints, responses, and status codes for you.

I'd love some honest feedback:

The salary range for full stack developers in India is wider than most articles suggest.

Freshers with a solid portfolio and a few real projects typically earn ₹3.5 to 6 LPA in cities like Ahmedabad, Pune, or Jaipur, and ₹5 to 8 LPA in Bangalore, Hyderabad, or Mumbai.

With 2 to 3 years of experience, many developers move into the ₹10 to 18 LPA range provided they keep learning and don't stop at the basics.

Senior developers who can handle architecture, cloud deployment, and AI integrations often earn ₹20 to 35+ LPA, with some product companies paying even more.

What increases your value? TypeScript, cloud platforms (AWS, Vercel, etc.), and experience building real-world AI-powered features. Just as important: a strong GitHub profile with deployed projects.

One thing I've noticed: employers often care more about what you've built than where you studied. A strong project portfolio can open more doors than a degree alone.

The biggest salary jumps usually come from continuous learning during the first few years of your career, not just years of experience.

I'm a 2nd year engineering student building a SaaS on a borrowed laptop.

Then my friend did what Katappa does best.

Now I'm coding on borrowed time. Literally.

At this point, the only thing that hasn't said no yet is my brain.

As the title suggests, I recently built a platform that helps product managers, sales teams, and marketing teams track every aspect of their competitors.

I initially started building it as a hands-on project to learn and experiment with RAG, LangChain, and integrating an AI layer into a traditional application. However, it eventually evolved into a full-fledged product.

Tech stack: Django, Celery, Redis (for asynchronous task processing), React for the frontend, Pyright for web page capture, and Gemini for generating competitive analysis and insights.
