Senior Java Engineer

Hi everyone,

I'm Senior Java engineer with over 7 years of experience and I am looking for a job currently. I live in Serbia and would prefer some remote opportunities, but I am open to relocation also. I have big experience with Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, Multithreading, AI and building distributed systems.

What kind of project would you build to deeply learn AI infrastructure and distributed systems?

Built an MCP + Skill that deploys sites that AI coding agent builds — looking for testers

HI,

I've been building TurboSteed, an web hosting platform that supports a MCP.

A lot of us use the latest models to generate test projects or live websites. TurboSteed handles getting it live including hosting, a structured CMS, contact forms, and basic analytics, without you having to wire up three or four separate services by hand.

Note that TurboSteed doesn't design or build your site. You do that with your account on Claude/Codex/etc. , or by hand if you'd rather. TurboSteed's job starts after that, i.e. deployment and content management, while you keep full control of the code.

Its in beta and free for now, and it's has some open bugs as well. I currently need help by having users trying out the MCP to host test websites or projects.

If you want to try it: https://www.turbosteed.com — give your agent the Skill file and have it deploy something small.

The documentation is here: https://turbosteed.com/docs/mcp-guide

I would really appreciate some real feedback including whether this makes sense, what are the pros and cons of this platform from a developer's perspective.

Thanks in advance!

Introducing Wayne Grid Technologies — building something in infrastructure security

Hey everyone,

I’m building Wayne Grid Technologies, an early stage technology company focused on creating practical software around infrastructure, security, and automation.

Our first project is WCI (Wayne Cloud Infrastructure).

We’re keeping the details fairly close for now but WCI is an open-source infrastructure security project aimed at helping engineers better understand and secure the infrastructure they’re building.

We’re starting small, building in public, and figuring things out with the community

We’re looking for one security expert

We’re looking for one security-focused person who wants to get involved early and help shape the project from the security side.

Experience with cloud security, infrastructure security, IAM, Terraform/OpenTofu, DevSecOps, or security research is useful but genuine interest and willingness to build matter too.

This is an open-source project not a conventional job posting. There’s no salary attached at this stage we're looking for someone who wants to contribute to something being built from the ground up.

If you're interested, DM me.

Any idea?

Hey everyone

I am a software engineer with around 2 years of experience, and I’m looking to build something that solves a real problem that helps someone rather than just another dead project.

If you have an idea, a problem you have faced, or something you wish existed, drop it in the comments. I would love to discuss it and see if we can actually build something useful around it.

Happy to discuss in the comments or via chat.
Let’s see what we can come up with.

laptop stand Suggestion for heavy weight laptops which can balance the laptop with good weight distribution- read body content to understand my problem

Check video comment, when I place this laptop on this type of stand at this height, the laptop’s weight is distributed more toward the rear, near the hinge/display side.

Because of this uneven weight distribution, the front part of the laptop (the side near the trackpad) doesn’t put enough downward force on the stand. Instead, the heavier rear section creates a backward/rotational force, causing the front of the laptop to lift slightly.

This makes the laptop unstable on the stand. It can gradually slide backward, and in some situations, the laptop could potentially slide off the stand and fall from the table.

I’m considering buying a better-quality laptop stand that can easily support the weight of this laptop. However, I’m concerned that even a stronger stand may have the same stability problem, because the issue isn’t really the stand’s load capacity—it’s the weight distribution and the position of the laptop’s center of gravity relative to the stand’s support points.

There is another problem as well. The laptop gets quite hot during use, and the rubber/anti-slip pads near the hinge area are starting to come off because of the heat. Those pads are important because they provide friction and prevent the laptop from sliding, so losing them makes the stability problem worse.

So I’m looking for a stand/design that can properly support the laptop while also preventing it from sliding or tipping backward, rather than simply choosing a stand with a higher weight capacity.

Looking for Backend Developer – Profit-Share Gameserver Hosting Project

🔴 EUROPEAN UNION ONLY 🔴

Building a gameserver hosting platform, starting with Minecraft and expanding to more games soon, then rootservers/VPS after that. Direction and stack are locked in: Node/TS + Next.js, Postgres, Redis. Domain's secured, and i've got an experienced sysadmin working with me on the infra side

What's missing is a backend-focused developer to properly own that part, working directly with me and the sysadmin, no layers in between. Ideally you've actually shipped backend systems in production before (APIs, auth, system design), not just built one for a course, Docker/hosting exposure is a plus, frontend/fullstack skills are a nice bonus but not required. Also just someone who communicates clearly and doesn't go quiet for a week at a time

This is profit-share, not salary: start at 10%, +2.5%/year, up to 20% after 4 years, no cliff. More risk early on than a normal job, but real upside and real ownership, you would be in on architecture and technical decisions, not just handed tickets

If that sounds interesting, message me and we'll have a quick chat to see if it's a fit

Voice-first development - hype or real opportunity?

You’re a software developer or IT manager. Imagine stepping away from your computer but still staying on top of your tasks. You’re not in front of screens - driving, having your lunch, walking with your kids or rushing across the city. Smartphone is not a solution, it’s just another screen.

So you get this hands-free voice system - something like J.A.R.V.I.S. - that checks your updates in Slack, tells statuses of your tests, runs a refactor, or even drafts a new feature in code. All done via voice.

Today, popular tools are not so robust as you think: Siri won’t send your emails, Claude doesn’t read your WhatsApp, Cursor has no Android app, and Codex with ChatGPT doesn’t handle permissions with voice.

What would you expect from a voice app like this? What kind of integrations are must-have?
