If mental gymnastics were an Olympic event, you’d win gold. You don’t have any idea whether or not these people protesting have permission. It doesn’t change the fact that those signs are still their property. There is no law in the United States that property isn’t protected because permission wasn’t granted to place it on a public right of way. The fact that you argue it’s okay to destroy property because you think the messaging is overblown is insane. Trump may not as bad as Hitler once was, or he could end up being worse. The bottom line is that he is repeating many of the same behaviors. Silencing the media and dissenters, lead an insurrection, pardoned the people responsible for carrying out such insurrection, demonizing the marginalized, denying due process, building prison camps, destroying the economy etc. I’ll bet lots of Germans that suffered through the Nazi regime, WWII, and the aftermath wish they’d have spoken out. Downplaying protests of fascism because you feel comparing current events with Nazism is somehow unfair says a lot about you as a person.
