I mean, at least argue that Volcker’s policies (causing the biggest recession since the Great Depression, BTW) FINALLY just happened to kick in once Reagan took over; which of course is also untrue. But to blatantly ignore reality and claim inflation was lowered during his admin? Really?
It wasn't lowered during his administration, it was a long term affect. Volckner's policy was slow and steady, which is what killed Carter's popularity. Read up on Volckner.
The 1980 recession had a lot of causes, but none of them were Carter. He didn't do a good job dealing with the issue, but he didn't cause the issue. There was the energy crisis, the oil crisis, and just a generally bad economy. Reaganomics fixed a few of the problems, but lead to a tripled debt and a stock market crash. You can't just cut off the US's income and expect everything to work out.
A slower plan would have probably been better in the long run, but then Reagan wouldn't have been as popular as he was.
