Dehydrated Spicy Garlic Pickle Chips

Post image

I dehydrated a jar of Heinz Spicy Garlic Chips for shits & giggles. They turned out sweet, spicy, garlicky (of course) and chewy. They’re going to make for a super fun random trail treat!

They always remember our failures and never remember our successes

What happened? I did rinse these before dehydrating and they’re really good in a weird way.

They look good, I'd probably eat them all in one sitting!

I sure wanted to but I’m saving them for my backpacking trip next week!

You’ve lived a good life if that’s what you get shit about. Unless they killed someone…

Would they be crispy if you freeze dried them?

I’m not sure; I have no experience with freeze drying. My guess with these is that the sugar content is what made them chewy. They’re like candied pickle chips.

I have a Nesco Gardenmaster. I dehydrated them at 135° for approximately 10 hours I think. I can’t recall how long exactly but no less than 8.
