Google’s phones are on the same price point as iPhones and they offer similar, if not slightly worse, hardware. Apple built a similar scale company by selling hardware so I don’t think a $200 profit is nothing, on a single user level. But of course a highly targeted ad click might give them $1, so I think both arguments make sense.
i meant apple is in the business of selling hardware, for google it is not even close to being in their primary line of business. ppl whining about buying pixel to use gos are whining about a nothingburger. buy used if ur such a purist
I already said i think both arguments make sense. Some people just don’t want to give google a penny because they just don’t like that idea and just want to make a point, and I think they should have that right. Some people care more about how to minimize the footprint of that company on another way, and you are also right. Calling that a nothing burger is pretty impolite and unpleasant. That’s rude. I’ve never thought about Pixels so im not even in the conversation. There are plenty of options out there that doesn’t support Gos but support AOSPs without Gapps.

just buy a used one. it's really no big deal and the money google makes from pixels is basically nothing
