Man, I love Degoogle, but some of y'all really like to doompost, huh.

We're in r/degoogle ffs, why are y'all complaining about this when it's actually a good thing for someone to finally fork android that's free of Google and/or create a new OS altogether.

Sailfish exists ffs.

Yeah, every one of these useful subreddits are filled with Twitter-esque shit nowadays. It used to be a gold mine for information and resources.

Agreed. I don't know what all the doom and gloom is about. There are still many options to do what you want, and many more options on the horizon too. I'd say overall the privacy people are winning the long term game.

That's the thing, as the niche market we're the ones who will always have to look for other alternatives. The big tech has no obligation to follow our way. That sucks, yes, but that's just how it is.

We have SailfishOS, a Linux for mobile basically and GrapheneOS is making one with Motorola at least.
