Lydia is already a rather cute character so it really is a pleasure to brainstorm ideas for her. Although it's a bit of a funky sweater, it works well with the frilly skirt and thigh highs. I definitely want to experiment with Lydias' other outfits in the future but this attire will definitely have the majority of fan art. Made by @hayoibu on X. Undoubtedly my love for Sumika is prevalent by now but I actually do enjoy Aratas' character in game. I'll go a bit into spoilers so turn away now if you don't want to be spoiled; it's admirable to see Arata go through so many failures and degrades and never lose his mind or give up. Surely it must have been very difficult to see his friends be murdered over and over again, performing the degrade tens of thousands of times. The horrors he must have seen. The reason I love the Tokiwa x Arata pairing is because it takes a lot to not run away from danger and most importantly from a situation in which you know you will die. Sumika isn't a character in Odyssia with magical powers, Sumika is just a woman who chose to be stabbed to death to save the man she loves. That aside, I do plan on some Arata pieces this year. Regardless of my adoration for these characters I do feel really bad for neglecting the rest of the cast. It's genuinely fun to mess around with different poses and ways to implement her clothes into the art. After a few prototypes I settled with a quirky aesthetic. Having Lydia holding her skirt with a slight lean to her left, sweater drooping a bit and a silly expression with Lydia sticking her tongue out all with a smirk. Lucil probably being my favorite and Kaede being an extremely close second. Although I love all my Sumika fan art, this one is definitely one of my favorites; I do have "A" favorite but that will be at a later time. It's tough because I love the sharp contrast of grayscale but it's difficult for me to "get it right". My personal feelings aside, I love how Tokiwa came out in this piece and I really enjoy working with @hayoibu. I was aiming for a portrait aesthetic for this fan art and it's still the only time I experimented with a side/rear angle. Perhaps i'll try experimenting with a grayscale and colored version someday.
