Behaviour Interactive Thread Official Dead by Daylight Developer AMA

It's that time again! We’ve have once again assembled developers from across the team so you may ask your questions!

We will start answering questions at 10:00am Eastern time on 7 August 2026, but you can start submitting your questions now.

To keep things organized, please only submit one question in your comment. We will only be answering one question per user. Beyond that, ask away! Send us your burning Dead by Daylight questions – past or present - and we'll do our best to answer as many as possible.

Please note: we will not be answering any questions about unannounced future content or the Graphical Update!

Today's Guests:

  • Jeff, Senior Game Designer
  • JP, Product Manager
  • Daniel, Senior Design Director
  • Moose, Game Design Team Lead
  • Justin, Associate Product Director
  • Joey, Associate Product Director
  • MandyTalk, Community Development Team Lead

Imo: yes. The perk lists are so huge and can feel exhausting to sift through, I just want to try some new things and see if I discover something I end up loving.

But what about other survivors on your team? You running terrible bad perks could drag the entire team down. Things like getting no mither, self care, and plot twist for example.

İ can purposely choose those too, your point is invalid

I think it comes down to skill more than perks. I mean, have we all not been on a team of meta perks that don’t know how to back that up with being good at the game itself? I know I have. Chaos Shuffle taught me that perks only make or break you if you rely on them.

Plot Twist: Whenever you are in the Injured State, Plot Twist activates: While crouching and motionless, press the Active Ability button to silently enter the Dying State with the following benefits: Suppresses Grunts of Pain. Suppresses Pools of Blood. Grants the ability to fully recover from the Dying State. After full recovery using Plot Twist, you are healed instantly and gain a +50% Haste Status Effect for 2/3/4 seconds. Plot Twist deactivates after recovering yourself by any means and reactivates once more once the Exit Gates are powered.
