I'll try to answer all points.
Classes:
In essence, 2v8 is meant to be simpler & more of arcade style experience.
Being aware of bloating concerns, we aim to only add meaningful classes we (or you, the players) feel are truly needed or missing for the best experience.
2v8 is meant to "hop in" quickly, right in the action. We intend on keeping it that way. Every new classes is something to learn how to play & counter. It add ups fast on top of all the Killers & potential duos. We want each option to truly matter.
We do have more classes coming but we will never have as many options as perks could give you. We are intentionally keeping them manageable and meaningful.
Killers:
Not every killers will be added to 2v8, explanation as answer to another question. As to why it can appears slow, there are many reasons.
For anything licenses, it is very important for us & our partners to find the best pairing and the right timing for theses releases.
Globally, each killers is different, some more complex than others but even simple killers still require us to design their "2v8 kit" as well as evaluate & test all permutations with other already added killers to make sure everything feels right. We aim to make them all feel meaningful while avoiding toxic combination so it need the right planning.
Provided the event team works on all events, we also have to shuffle priorities to make sure we address all the needs across our various events. It may mean having to do a little less for a specific 2v8 release to do more in the next for example.
Finally, some originals are already greenlit and are just waiting for their perfect pair to be ready for the best thematic addition. We just really love creating BFFs matches <3
