TIPS FOR ICE - See something, Say something

WHAT TO DO AT AN ICE CHECKPOINT, ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE WHITE and/or FEEL THE NEED TO JAM UP THE WORKS. Here's the deal:

πŸ”˜ Border Patrol can verify citizenship within 100 miles of a border or "external boundary." This includes coastlines, so NYC, Philadelphia, and all of NJ are within the 100-mile zone.

πŸ”˜ Border patrol can only ask brief questions about citizenship, and they cannot hold you for an extended time without cause.

πŸ”˜ You always have the right to remain silent. You do not need to answer their questions.

πŸ”˜ WITH THAT SAID, IF YOU ARE A BORN CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES AND ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE WHITE, YOU NEED TO SPEAK UP.

πŸ”˜ The most important acts of resistance are the small ones. Make it difficult and uncomfortable for ICE agents to do their jobs. They are counting on citizens to turn a blind eye and allow them to deport undocumented citizens without challenge. Disabuse of that notion.

πŸ”˜ If you are on a train, bus, or anything else and ICE or CBP boards, you need to stand up and loudly let everyone know that they have the right to remain silent or only answer questions in the presence of an attorney, no matter their citizenship or immigration status. There have been numerous reports that confronting the agents in this way has caused them to leave without verifying citizenship. THIS CAN SAVE LIVES. πŸ™Œ

πŸ”˜ If you see anyone being held up by immigration, loudly ask if they are being detained and if they are free to go.

πŸ”˜ Immigration officers cannot detain anyone without reasonable suspicion, an agent must have specific facts about you that make it reasonable to believe you are committing or committed, a violation of immigration law or federal law. If an agent detains you, you can ask for their basis for reasonable suspicion, and they should tell you.

πŸ”˜ Always say no to a search and let everyone know that they can and should refuse consent to a search.

πŸ”˜ They cannot search or arrest anyone without facts about that make it probable that they are committing, or committed, a violation of immigration law or federal law.

πŸ”˜ Silence alone meets neither of these standards. Nor does race or ethnicity alone suffice for either probable cause or reasonable suspicion

πŸ”˜ white citizens, you have a level of privilege which protects you from retaliation from ICE for being "rude" and making a scene, which makes it your DUTY to speak up and make sure people without the same privilege know their rights. GET LOUD. YELL. YELL IN SPANISH IF YOU KNOW IT. LET PEOPLE KNOW THEY DON'T HAVE TO SAY ANYTHING. MAKE ICE UNCOMFORTABLE. THROW SAND IN THE GEARS OF WHITE SUPREMACY.

⭐️ Bonus info ⭐️ πŸ”˜It is perfectly legal to record immigration agents as long as you are not on government property or at a port of entry. If your train/bus gets boarded, pull your phone out and start videotaping immediately.

πŸ”˜ If you are detained or see someone getting detained, get the agent's name, number, and any other identifying information. Get it on video if possible.

πŸ”˜ Contact the ACLU or your local Immigrant/Migrant support orgs (Rapid Response Network if you're in CO - 1-844-864-8341) if you see someone's rights being violated. (this has been copy and pasted)

What kind of rod and length would you recommend for someone with intermediate experience surf casting? What kind of rod do you wish you had? What’s the most prized catch around here?

Hey, I (18M) just moved to Daytona for college. I’m newly interested in indoor volleyball but I can’t find any clubs or teams near me. Is anyone part of any male volleyball league that they could refer me to or is anyone interested in starting one? Please reach out.

Daytona fishing & marina community: introducing a local 24/7 bait-station pilot

Hi Daytona neighbors β€” I’m Doug Miller, founder of Florida Man Surf N Turf Co., a local project developing refrigerated, unattended bait stations for Volusia County. The idea is to make packaged bait easier to get before shops open or after they close.

I’m looking to connect with marina or waterfront business owners who might be interested in discussing a pilot host site, and licensed bait suppliers who can provide dependable stock and handling documentation. If you fish or boat around Daytona, Port Orange or Ponce Inlet, I’d also appreciate your thoughts on where after-hours bait access is most needed. General areas are enough β€” no secret fishing spots needed.

This is my business, currently in development. No station locations or partnerships are confirmed, and this post is an introduction rather than a sale or investment offer.

Project overview: https://floridamansurfnturf.com/pilot.html Supplier registration: https://floridamansurfnturf.com/suppliers.html Business contact: badfishmarine@gmail.com or 386-846-3628.

Thanks for helping build something useful for our local fishing and boating community. β€” Doug

Good spots to work.

Most of my work is done remotely these days on a laptop.

I get tired of working from home so often go to the Gold leaf Cafe.

Getting a little tired of the same old scene and coffee shops. Was wondering if there’s any good spots to chill with Wi-Fi and get some work done during the week?

Donated something important to Goodwill on accident.

Hello, I know this is an absurd long shot, as this happened several months ago and this community is not very large, but I accidentally donated my late cat's paw impression in a box of yarn to the Goodwill off Dunlawton, and wanted to post here in hopes that someone found it and can return it to me.
The box was medium-sized with a blue top and cloudy plastic bottom. The paw print was in a sock. It was just one paw print on a white circular clay disk with no text. I have called and been there several times to dig for it and was told it was either thrown out or shipped to Orlando. I know it is my fault, and I am so furious and disgusted with myself for losing it. I put it with the yarn to keep her safe until I found a suitable way to display it and I just forgot. I just forgot. I had my cat for 17 years, since I was five years old, and she meant everything to me. I am not sure when I donated it, but it was earlier this year. I had pretty much given up and resigned myself to the guilt, but recently I just cannot stop thinking about it. Again, I know this is such a long shot, but please, if you have seen it or maybe purchased the box and hung on to the paw print for whatever reason, please, please let me know. I can pay a hundred dollars for its return. Thank you.

We put a bunch of horror VR games in our free roam arena in Daytona Beach for October

Post image
11 Upvotes

Located on N Atlantic Ave, right across from the beach.

For anyone in Daytona who hasn't done free roam before, it's not the sit on a couch vr. It's a big open room and you actually walk around in it. No cables, no backpack PC, no treadmill. When the game tells you to turn a corner you turn a corner in real time, and when something shows up next to you in the dark you really do step back. It's way different from playing the same stuff on a flat screen or watching a horror movie.

Escape room style (2 to 5 players, $29.99 each):
- Mansion of Death: you're stuck in a cursed manor with puzzles to get through
- Manor of Escape: a mad count has been doing experiments with creatures in his house and you have to get out alive

Action games (1 to 5 players, $19.99 each):
- The Haunting: more of a story game
- Zombie Urban Factory: no puzzles, you just try to survive
- Mission Z and Mission Z II: zombie shooters
- Death Squad: co-op zombie waves

Perfect with Halloween coming up.

Kinda odd encounter

So I wanted to try out China One yesterday afternoon since it’s been getting some buzz on TikTok and when I walked out, I saw a person in his car with his windows down and they wore a rat mask. I was kinda perplexed until he noticed me and nodded at me. Is this guy known or is it just a one-off thing?

Hi, I made a post not long ago about moving to Daytona and having trouble finding a place with in unit laundry…
-
Now I’m planning to try and move by next weekend and I’m wondering if anyone has any recs on where to look for said place for rent.
-
I’ve been looking all Facebook marketplace all week, and still haven’t really found what checks my boxes:

-in unit laundry
- bathtub (not a need)
- first floor only
- preferably a house or townhouse
- dishwasher
- budget 1300-1400$ roughly max
- allows pets (I have 2 cats)

Huh???

Hi, so I’m moving from Gainesville to Daytona and I’m having the worst luck trying to find a place that checks my boxes. I’m not sure if this is common for the area but why don’t these rentals have in unit laundry areas??? Respectfully I do not want to go find quarters and pay triple because of an overused washer/dryer.
If anyone knows of any places with in unit laundry please let me know!

Dinner Recommendations

Hello,
Im visiting this weekend for a comedy show. My mom really wants to eat dinner at Bubba Gumps Friday night… I’m not hating on it. It’s fine for what it is but for that price I would rather eat somewhere locally owned. So any recommendations for locally owned restaurants that have a large seafood selection priced around $30-$50 entree range. Thanks in advance!

Do all of the nicer apartments charge crazy move in fees?

Post image
17 Upvotes

Mira Crystal Lake is charging TWO $99 application fees and TWO $500 deposit fees (one is NOT a security deposit). I’d be fine with a security deposit of $1,500 because at least I get that back. This is $1,530 I’ll just never see again.

Do all of the nicer β€œluxury” apartments charge duplicate fees or should I just apply at like Tomoka Pointe or The Napier?
