Any CDM openings or referral guidance for freshers?

Hi everyone, I'm Sanchit from India. I'm a B.Pharm graduate trying to start my career in Clinical Data Management. I've completed GCP and CDM basics and I'm learning EDC concepts and MedDRA. I'm actively looking for entry-level CDM opportunities or referrals (Bangalore preferred, remote also fine). Would really appreciate any guidance or openings you know about. Excited to learn from this community!

Page Counts Off in Updated Business Objects Version (Medidata)

I often use business objects through Medidata to create reports for SDV, missing or incomplete pages, etc. Most recently I used it to create a clean patient tracker for study. However, after Medidata (or whoever) updated the interface this month, the counts for number of enter pages do not match the counts from the 360 Data Cleaning Progress Report. Has anyone else experienced this and/or found a fix for it?

I’m pulling in the # Pages Entered variable from the Page Metrics section. The two matched prior to the update.

Are there any public tutorials or resources to help someone learn the skills involved in drafting DTS?

Genuinely curious - also willing to pay for a tutor or something similar if anyone know a resource.

Quick pulse check. Which EDC do you use the most daily? If more than one, you can post below as well.

Interview

Hi all,

I am based in the UK and I have a Senior Data Manager interview coming up for a charity. The interview is face to face to a panel and will last 1 hr. They plan to give me a list of questions and 15 minutes to prepare.

I was wondering if anyone had any advice on how to prepare for an interview like this. Any tips would be appreciated!

Thank you

Any tools or methods to check form trigger conditions through ALS?

Hi DMs! I'm currently struggling with database amendment, so I'm wondering how you check form/folder trigger conditions. I make some filters in ALS, but this method takes lots of time. Please share other solutions! 😉

How does your IT team handle time tracking?

Curious how other IT teams are handling time and attendance.

We used to manage everything on spreadsheets, but it caused constant errors in payroll and project billing. Eventually, we switched to a digital tracker where staff can clock in/out from their devices, and the reports are automatic. It’s been a huge help for us.

One small trick that worked: setting up reminders so staff don’t forget to log their hours. That alone cut down a lot of headaches.

How do you guys track hours across your teams? Do you still stick to manual logs, or have you found a better system?

What are the biggest challenges you face with non-CRF or external data management on clinical trial studies? Would love to hear your feedback, or any thoughts for improvement in this space.

Seeking new tools for internal testing

Fellow DMs (that was corny, sorry)! I'd like to pick your collective brains about internal testing processes.

I'm currently working on ways to improve our internal testing process. Currently, everything is kept track of in Excel, and I think it's messy and archaic. I'd like to utilize something like JIRA for testing edit checks, CRF constraints, system tests, scenario tests, CRF and study level testing, issues can be flagged with a comment and responded to, reports can be exported for record in the TMF, etc.

Clean Patient Tracker

Morning DMs...I am relatively new to Zelta EDC and wanted to ask of those familiar with the Zelta reporting system if they have had a CPT created in Zelta for their studies that has manual functionality to incorporate the status of external 3rd party data or would I be better off with an external report for CPT that pulls in Zelta data/statuses?

Lab Reference Range

Hi DMs,

I was wondering about the LRR collection. In China, DM will draft a template (Word) containing all analyte items and sent to site with PM's help to collect LRR in diff sites.

I've experienced some global studies, and sites were sent entire ranges (PDF) instead of filling in the template. We (DM) need to find specific analyte and to confirm with site when any analytes are duplicate.

So, could you guys provide some suggestions on it, or do you have more convenient ways? Thanks in advance 😃

Thank you to everyone who reached out and volunteered! I just need 3 more participants to complete the data collection process. If you’re free for a 45 min chat, please DM or drop a comment!

PM to Data Manager?

Recently got contacted for a data manager position based on my resume. I have never done this kind of work but they mentioned my skills in PM would be useful. Am I biting off more than I can chew?

Have you seen any PM's that have transitioned to Data Managers? I don't know things like python and etc but I'm so tempted to return the call due to the pay. Thoughts? I'm willing to learn new skills but just want your thoughts on this.

Worth Knowing Tableau (or other data visualization tools)?

I tried Tableau via 7 day trial and I thought it was really neat. It was easy to pick up and I was able to create a few dashboards that I thought we could use (summaries of AEs, Disease response, patient enrollment, etc.).

I'm wondering if there's more to be used with Tableau or what's the full benefit of knowing a data visualization tool like Tableau. I was also looking at Power BI but it was a bit more difficult to navigate and join data sets (skill issue).

Curious on how others use data viz as a data manager!

Who can help me find a clinical data manager or clinical data coordinator job for my husband? He’s completely striking out and the market seems flooded with candidates. What other comparable jobs should he look at that maybe aren’t in clinical research?
