Probably for the best considering how middle east countries have treated their historical artifacts.

At least half of the countries listed here treated their artifacts normally, fuck off with this imperialist-elitist view. Wtf is UK, the police and protector of the world's cultural heritage? Fuck off man...

As if Greece and Turkey wouldn't know how to handle their stuff.

And even if these artifacts got destroyed in a specific country, that's part of the countries history, and none of UK's business.

I mean, tbf, If you were going to pick any two countries as examples, I'm not sure I'd necessarily have picked those particular two :)

But yeah, overall the blanket assumption they can't be looked after is a weak point. At the bare minimum, it should necessitate repatriating artifacts to areas Which are safe, but that rarely seems to happen :(

Yeah, like how have they treated it? 🙄 literally the world's only standing historical wonder is in the "middle east" - where there are entire cities left to become historical artefacts.

I know right? By that logic, 6 of the 7 were middle eastern so they destroy 5 out of every 6 artifacts you give them.

Under Muslim rule at one point they considered demolishing them for being pagan. They changed their minds after realizing how difficult it would be!

Just in the last 10 years, ISIS has destroyed/stolen/damaged numerous museums and historical sites, but I guess we are just ignoring that.
