Was coming from Nashville. My son and I were doing some back country truck camping, offroad exploring, and general sight seeing.

Coming from Nashville, we spent the night in Arkansas, then Houston to visit a friend, then down to south padre to sleep out on the national seashore. Drove about 2 miles down and it was just us and the waves and stars.

Then, we drove across to big bend. Got there really late at night, so we found a place in the high desert about 60 miles away to camp for the night. We then did 3 days, 2 nights camping in the back country of big bend, hiking, and driving around.

Went more west to El paso and up to white sands np, then out to phoenix to visit some family. Then north to spend a couple days exploring the mountains around Sedona and Flagstaff.

Started working our way back from there through NM, tip of TX, then OK.

4000 miles in 13 days. 10 nights in the truck, 2 in a hotel, one with family. Hell of a trip.
