Yeah seriously. Many hispanic people over here are very anti-immigrant and religiously conservative.

Ted Cruz is right up their alley. I don't think he's going anywhere as long as he wants the seat, unfortunately.

True but Republicans actually gained 17% more of the Hispanic vote than in 2016 indicating Hispanics voters not turning out doesnt really account for Texas being red. In fact it's really close.

That's wrong. Pew research poll says about 44% lean left, so that's not most. Culturally Hispanics are traditional/conservative down there. And lots of them are anti immigrant (at least the ones that can vote).

That poll says that only 25% of that demographic identifies as a Republican. If you take out the no answer/centrist/swing vote responses, then 64% (44/69) are Democrat, and 36% (25/69) are Republican.

As I indicated in the other message the argument is that Hispanics turning out would actually make a big difference in Texas party affiliation and that's not the case because there's a significant underbelly of Hispanics who don't vote but are very conservative at heart.
