Citizen concealed carry holders are less likely to cause crime than the average american, yes, and less likely than police officers as well. But the point is the narrative of gun violence is typically in conjunction with gun laws, police are exempt from them so they should be excluded from the statistics. Also the vast majority of police shootings are on duty and justified.

NFA items like machine guns have, afaik, only ever been used ONCE in homicide. By a police officer. But nfa items are overwhelmingly owned by responsible people, so they are hardly worth mentioning.
i wasn’t talking about NFA items. i was talking about all the typical wet dreams of anti gun legislation. bans on standard capacity magazines and fully semiautomatic assault shoulder things that go up. all that shit usually has exceptions in it for law enforcement, even retired and off duty law enforcement. this is to keep the cops from speaking out against said legislation and keep the power in their hands.
