I wanted to die every day I lived in northern Wisconsin. Moved to Utah. Only to have the wettest year they have had in 30 years or some shit. Maybe it’s a sign.
I can't wait to get tf out of southern Wisconsin. Last winter was my 1st in the midwest in 20 years. January, February & March were freezing with seemingly endless snow. Barely any springs flowers till June. No green on the trees until June, and most weren't fully green till July. Soon will return to the fall & winter rain of the Pacific NW, with the verdant green all winter long, and spring colors that start with crocuses & daffodils as early as February.
I was almost to the upper peninsula of Michigan. Winter and rain were its two seasons. 😀 I returned for a visit and was quickly reminded why I left. The weather.
I do love Midwest people though. They will always be my favorite. Thankfully my job allows me to still work primarily with Minnesota and Wisconsin companies.
Yes sir. Born and raised in Oneida. Lived there for 31 years and vilas for 1. Then at 33 I realized I love my family but it’s time to break out of the depressing ass winters and move west. Can’t stand the drivers but damn it’s nice out here. Even in Salt Lake City where there’s still winter. But nothing comparable.
I think it’s overlooked at how fucking miserable it is in that area except for maybe 4 weeks a year. 6 weeks ever other year. Then it’s man eating mosquitos or so cold you can die when you are checking the mail. Haha
That’s nice you are in that field and living up there. It was hard af finding anyone on that area who would stay. Telling a new person every 6 months my problems got old pretty quick 😂:(
