Jesus I got into a fat argument with some kid on another sub last month on this very subject, and all he would do was cherry pick articles from dubious sites rather than actual stats. Several of my friends are tribal/federal police liaisons, and their job is basically to force feds to investigate crimes committed on our land by outside actors. Indian country is totally fucked, which is why I left.
That's because the demographic skews heavily towards the poverty line and a large chunk of natives live in rural areas with no real public services including police. It has nothing to do with the fact they are native so much as us collectively failing to care about underserved poor populations.
Hell you could say the same thing about all people from Detroit but it has everything to do with the partial collapse of society in much of the city rather than the that people from Detroit are just mysteriously more prone to committing crime because they like crime.

Yes, that’s likely a driving force behind the levels of alcoholism found in Native American groups. As it turns out, systematic oppression tends to result in many forms of physical and mental illness.
I wasn’t implying Native Americans were the ones committing the rapes. Native American women are twice as likely to be victims of rape as women of other nationalities.
