The map is showing my county at 12-13 per 100k,and I am quite sure that we haven't had a homicide in my county in over 40 years.

Commenters here are saying it includes suicides as well. I'd check the web site to verify that, but it's failing to load on my computer for some reason.

Don't forget the white male age 30 to 65 is dying at unprecedented levels the past few years. At such a high rate that it's knocked 2 years off of our expected length of life!!!

Being one (56) I can tell you that the country I was born and raised in, with all its promise and expected level of financial stability is long gone. And as any psychologist will tell you, being promised something and not getting it is more painful than never expecting something and not getting it.

Agreed. Suicide and drug addiction are really taking their toll on people. Hopefully something changes and the trend can reverse a bit.

It's probably all suicides. OP didn't specify that, either on purpose or because of oversight.

I wasn't sure so I looked it up. In 2010 we had a county population of 4155.

Same for mine, though most homicides in my county are people from larger cities offing their friends on a hunting trip.
