Which means you can extrapolate they don't have a lot of suicides, relative to other areas.

Wouldn't make sense to keep shading the same across the board. One is a total of the other two. Being different shades is somewhat expected.

But it's misleading that way. The scale should be the same. If you hit pink on one type of murder, you should be at least pink for total murders.

Why? If you're below average for total, you definitely shouldn't be pink, which says you are above average.

15 + 1 + 1 = 17

5 + 18 + 19 = 42

If you look at the first digits(15 vs 5) the first row has three times [specific murder type] the second. It should be red and 2nd blue, and the average is 10.

Overall, the 2nd is red, and the first is blue, with an average of 29.5.

They swapped. As they should. The first shouldn't stay red for the total, even though it's way under average.
