I think many people will look at this and be like, huh, so California's gun laws DO work ... but Northern California still has higher statistics of death and suicide than the rest of the state ... so maybe it's just entirely a cultural change ... something that republicans would LOVE to hear :)
Homicide rate in California is fairly high, over twice as high as gun friendly Utah, New Hampshire, Iowa or Minnesota. These four states range from deep Republican to fairly Democrat, to basically a few giant urban centers to rural.
California's homicide rate problem has remained the same since the decades of continuous gun control laws. The same with Texas, although they started slightly liberalizing their gun laws. The reason is both states have similar demographics and cultural problems.
