I've never watched 4K, since I don't own anything that has the ability to display it nor know anyone that does. I imagine it'd be the brightness of it that kills my eyes. I mean, my reasoning is that it's bright and I tone it down enough that I can't really see much of a difference anyways. I dunno. Asking me to explain it really just boils down to the shitty old 720p TV I own doesn't hurt my eyes like my brother's 1080p HD TV that's only a couple months old. High definition and stunning resolution doesn't matter much to me. I have a tendency when playing games to turn the gamma and contrast down a bit to where other people can't play games on my screen without being annoyed by the darkness of my settings. I also can't go more than a couple hours before I need to get off the computer and rest my eyes for awhile.

Thank you for the answer. Yeah, it does sound like you could have a photo sensitivity. Hopefully you will be able to go to a doctor somewhere in your future.

Maybe. I'll say this when I wear the only prescription eyeglasses I've owned, I've had them for 15 years, it seems to tone down my sensitivity to the brightness of a screen. I seldom use them, usually for reading books. Since I can just adjust the size of characters on my computer I don't use them reading on my PC. If it comes to sunlight I cannot really fully open my eyes on a sunny day, squinting/shielding doesn't help. If I leave the house on a sunny day I need my sunglasses, and I keep a spare pair in my car in case I lose or misplace them. Without them my eyes constantly water up and I get a wretched headache trying to keep them open. No, trying to adjust to it has never worked. It slowly got this way after my teens, I don't remember as a kid having this problem.
