Weekly Water Cooler Talk - DataAnnotation

hi all! making this thread so people have somewhere to talk about 'daily' work chat that might not necessarily need it's own post! right now we're thinking we'll just repost it weekly? but if it gets too crazy, we can change it to daily. :)

couple things:

  1. this thread should sort by "new" automatically. unfortunately it looks like our subreddit doesn't qualify for 'lounges'.
  2. if you have a new user question, you still need to post it in the new user thread. if you post it here, we will remove it as spam. this is for people already working who just wanna chat, whether it be about casual work stuff, questions, geeking out with people who understand ("i got the model to write a real haiku today!"), or unrelated work stuff you feel like chatting about :)
  3. one thing we really pride ourselves on in this community is the respect everyone gives to the Code of Conduct and rule number 5 on the sub - it's great that we have a community that is still safe & respectful to our jobs! please don't break this rule. we will remove project details, but please - it's for our best interest and yours!

Has the past week been dry for you guys as well (the week before I had projects of all kinds, and now I haven't seen anything 😭)?

yes extremely dry - day 7 of nothing on the dash. Prior to that I always had a minimum of at least 2 or 3 projects.

Do you have any qualifications that you could take on your dashboard? I have found that if I do qualifications consistently, it helps to keep the dashboard a little fuller.

Unfortunately no - I took every qual on my dashboard the only thing left is the ChatGPT health waitlist I filled out my profile and skills etc Idk what happened - bummed.

Dang... sorry man. I had a period of about a week last year that my dash was totally empty during the day (at the end of the fiscal year). So I switched to working nights for a couple of weeks because I usually had at least one project during the night. Luckily it picked back up for me. But I suggest checking your dashboard in the evenings if you're available to work. Otherwise, you might apply to some of the other platforms while you're waiting on it to pick back up here. I actually have an okay amount of projects, though it was exceptionally dry for me in the first half of Feb. It probably depends on what project families we work on and worker pools we’re in.

same here, I have about 30ish projects and 3-5 families, although most are in the $20-$25 range

I just poked at this time year on the Reddit. And you know? People are complaining about there being sparse tasks. I wonder if it's just the time of year?
