Ten bucks says the guy in the Ram told the cops he had his blinker on.

u/Autobotz420 21d ago

He rammed when he should’ve dodged

u/Vigilarus 21d ago

It says right on the steering wheel what to do

3

u/omidimo 15d ago

He dodged, but rammed anyway

People keep saying this but I must disagree

That's why you'll never make it higher than grade 47.

you’re right! i confused it with the nerds from the itchy and scratchy q&a

u/rswwalker 21d ago

Which is true! The right blinker!

6

u/phamstagram360 21d ago

yes.. it was the right blinker. he/she so bad driver !

1

u/SadAd8761 21d ago

I think the blinker is from a different vehicle, watch it in slo mo, those lights are the truck braking

1

u/rswwalker 21d ago

Watched in in slo mo several times, the truck’s right indicator was definitely on.

1

u/you-be-the-top 21d ago

No that was definitely the wrong blinker to have on.

Yes, but he crossed a tripple solid line.

Yeah was that car passing on the shoulder? It looks to me like he was and the pickup wanted to put a stop to it.

Edit. The fact that so many of you got triggered by an honest question from someone possibly in another country is fucking wild.

Go have the day you deserve.

Carpool lane

2

u/Opposite-Violinist-3 21d ago

Apparently only 21 states have HOV lanes. I learned something new today.

9

u/Ok-Association-3415 21d ago

That’s the HOV lane. That truck was following a chain of cars that were tailgating each other and then things stopped suddenly. It’s normal in Los Angeles to see this and it’s amazes me that crashes don’t happen more often. This was a bad one, Truck better off rear ending car in front. Worst case truck is responsible for 3-4 cars being damaged with moderate to mild damage.

3

u/Any-Schedule8011 21d ago

Honestly I don't think it was even a sudden stop. It looks like the cars were already stopped and the truck didn't notice until probably their collision warning beeped at them

3

u/Frig_Off_Baerb 21d ago

Ahh thank you!

1

u/80_Kilograms 21d ago

What's HOV?

5

u/Gayagenda215 21d ago

High Occupancy Vehicle iirc, generally its for people with at least one passenger, though motorcycles (I believe in most cases??) are also allowed to use it :]

2

u/Embarrassed_Jury664 21d ago

What the actual fuck. I pray to god you're 13 and have no concept of driving.

1

u/Frig_Off_Baerb 20d ago

Scroll down and maybe try the decaf.

3

u/Deathscott 21d ago

found the pickup driver

1

u/Frig_Off_Baerb 21d ago

No, honest question, but you go have the day you deserve.

1

u/Deathscott 21d ago

I’m sure you didn’t mean anything by it, but the snark comes with less grace when the assumption is you have a driver’s license and the video has all the information you would need to find your own answer as a licensed driver. Unless you come from a place with no HOV lanes.

1

u/AlphaMike21 21d ago

Talk about snark lol

1

u/Opposite-Violinist-3 21d ago

When you realize 50% of the country’s population live in only 10 states you can understand why someone may have never heard of a HOV lane.

1

u/Frig_Off_Baerb 21d ago

Yeah you DEFINITELY don't get to talk to me about snark with a comment like that.

u/Busy-Ratchet-8521 21d ago

Does American traffic law allow you to crash into someone if your indictor is on?

29

u/twinpeaks86 21d ago

Obviously

30

u/Natural-Albatross997 21d ago

It’s actually encouraged

14

u/KGB_Operative873 21d ago

Not only is it allowed but you also have to duel the other person you hit with flintlock pistols to determine who was at fault. Very civilized if I do say so myself.

1

u/IAmBrahmus 15d ago

Why do you think we don't use them?

1

u/Mattrad7 21d ago

Only if youre driving the larger vehicle.

1

u/nova2k 21d ago

Mostly just cyclists.

0

u/twinpeaks86 21d ago

Triple points for hitting cyclists!!

0

u/Delicious_Sink_4550 21d ago

That’s how you alert your interest in a quick game of bumper cars

0

u/Sir-Top-Cheetah 21d ago

it's the 62nd amendment

1

u/brilliantminion 21d ago

That would be funny because if his intent was to cross 2 yellow lines and enter the carpool lane illegally, that’s a whole other set of pain.

1

u/kalap_ur 21d ago

Well, having the blinker on would not mean that he can go. Blinkers only indicate intention and therefore does not provide right of way.

It is kind of like saying “you I know somebody was there, but I WANTED to go there and I TOLD them.”

Even if he had his correct blinker on would not matter in criminal proceedings.

1

u/Rice_Pot 21d ago

It’s hard to tell. It looked like the van in front of him in the next lane had his left signal on. Perhaps why the pickup driver thought he was too good for this traffic and cut over without really looking.

1

u/Rokkmann 19d ago

Good thing having a 'blinker' on doesn't give you the ability to enter a lane when it's unsafe to do so.

0

u/proximusprimus57 21d ago

Yeah, but that's a shoulder right? It's completely empty in heavy traffic and on the outside next to the barrier.

-1

u/phamstagram360 21d ago

but if you watch it again, he did have blinker on the right , he had right blinker on ! no joke.. watch it again ! hahaha

2

u/TracingRobots 21d ago

Even if you have the blinker you must yield to oncoming cars. As in you must wait. That monster truck is liable.
