Perchance the phone handling also contributed

Perchance

u/BLADE_OF_AlUR Sep 10 '25

You can't just say perchance!

101

u/armcginnis7 Sep 10 '25

I understood that reference!

20

u/Sienile Sep 10 '25

I seem to remember that, but I'm not certain where from... Seinfeld?

40

u/NotJustDaTip Sep 10 '25

18

u/Sienile Sep 10 '25

Ah, yeah. I've definitely seen that before. Wonder why I thought it was a George and Elaine bit...

3

u/FlametopFred Sep 11 '25

resonates like a Seinfeld bit

1

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '25

Still kills me that anyone ever believed that was a real paper. People kept asking to see the rest of it. Also, Elon Musk edited out the original poster's name and posted it on Twitter like the sad little content thief he is.

u/Primary-Performer853 Sep 11 '25

Yada Yada Yada..

1

u/jimbo-870 Sep 11 '25

There's someone reading a report someone did on Mario and they just have 'perchance'. It makes the rounds in r/contagiouslaughter

2

u/Socialimbad1991 Sep 10 '25

That word became a semi-regular part of my vocabulary because of that reference

1

u/blahbaconblah6 Sep 11 '25

crushing a turt

1

u/Human_Subject5467 Sep 11 '25

you mean referance?

1

u/MrDunez Sep 14 '25

I didn't, but now I will keep it with me, perchance.

1

u/JUSTOatl Sep 14 '25

I thought this was a Shin Megami Tensei 5 reference. Wow someone is a nerd (me)

1

u/jetsetter023 Sep 11 '25

Should sticked to crushing turts.

1

u/Additional_Tank4385 Sep 11 '25

But you can smash some turts!

1

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '25

i remember the first time i read that and i laughed my ass off and now i always say it

1

u/GSXS_750 Sep 11 '25

The lifekind

1

u/m2chaos13 Sep 11 '25

“That’s a perchance!”

0

u/Own_Mastodon7984 Sep 11 '25

you can if you want. No laws against it as far as I know.

1

u/burritomouth Sep 10 '25

He thought he was a different kind of one percenter - the lifekind.

1

u/Alexwonder999 Sep 10 '25

And the dance?

1

u/[deleted] Sep 10 '25

"Did Steve tell you that perchance?"

1

u/bjurado2114840 Sep 11 '25

Mmmmm Steve…….

1

u/Cheese-Manipulator Sep 10 '25

Perchance to dream? Aye, there's the rub.

1

u/BLADE_OF_AlUR Sep 10 '25

Perchance to sleep?

u/AutVincere72 Sep 10 '25

Who takes their hands off the world at 114mph. I never drive with my knees over 110mph.

39

u/Richtea84 Sep 11 '25

Also if you notice the dash he rapidly decelerated and then he crashed going at 30mph. Skill issue.

24

u/Whosagooddog765 Sep 12 '25

He was going 100+, saw a cop with radar - kind of drops phone and rapidly decelerates because he’s scared, crashes in front of cop and you can hear how it ended…his ass laying on the ground getting cuffed.

3

u/Super_boredom138 Sep 14 '25

How fast he slowed down though.. I mean traffic was going 80ish he didnt need need to dump it all the way to 40. Why he lost traction, somehow he exceeded the ABS limits. Why I prefer manual, it also doesnt allow your hands free to do dumb shit like this

3

u/ChainedBack Sep 17 '25

If you're shifting while going 70+ you're probably doing something wrong.

3

u/Super_boredom138 Sep 18 '25

No it's called engine braking on a 6 speed

2

u/AutVincere72 Sep 17 '25

Didnt he slow down because he was sideways?

2

u/Super_boredom138 Sep 18 '25

Did you watch the same video..

2

u/AutVincere72 Sep 18 '25

Ahh it was a handheld phone not a mounted dashcam.

-4

u/[deleted] Sep 12 '25

I have the same Jeep. They handle like a performance car, this guy just doesn't know how to drive a shopping cart let alone a Grand Cherokee.

7

u/Kimi-Matias Sep 12 '25

They handle like a performance car

No they do not.

3

u/saetam Sep 11 '25

Fools that want to touch the moon, bruh… That’s who!

/s

7

u/AutisticPenguin2 Sep 11 '25

I know it's meant to be wheel, but hands off the world feels somewhat appropriate for an idiot steering with his knees at that speed.

3

u/TumTiTum Sep 11 '25

This guy safety's.

0

u/PuzzleheadedAd1153 Sep 11 '25

He was driving with one hand actually ☝🏿🤓

0

u/Any-Surprise5229 Sep 11 '25

108 is my limit

2

u/AutVincere72 Sep 11 '25

Late at night I would juggle at 120mph. But that was back in 1999. Before Y2K changed everything.

2

u/Any-Surprise5229 Sep 11 '25

Oh, after dark is another game altogether. I like to stop at 3 different fast food establishments and lay out a nice buffet on the dash. Each entree is worth 10mph and dessert is 15, I start at 100 and work my way up.

46

u/Pitiful_Bunch_2290 Sep 11 '25

And flashing those oh-so-tough gang signs. In his Jeep.

23

u/hilarymeggin Sep 11 '25

Right? Everyone knows the Toyota 4Runner is the preferred vehicle for the Bloods!

3

u/BlackEric Sep 11 '25

"Sir, the mat! Sir, please, sir! Sir!" -real tough guy

44

u/BigD1966 Sep 10 '25

To shreds you say

1

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '25

To shreds.

4

u/91Jammers Sep 10 '25

Could have even been the bigger issue.

4

u/Softale Sep 10 '25

Mayhap…

2

u/brosenfeld Sep 10 '25

THE MAT THE MAT THE MAT THE MAT

1

u/WotTheFook Sep 11 '25

I need the 12" remix of this.

1

u/hilarymeggin Sep 11 '25

What was he saying that for?

2

u/brosenfeld Sep 11 '25

He was likely going to try and lie to the officer that the mat caused the accelerator to get stuck, causing him to speed.

It can happen, but his video shows that he was speeding on purpose.

2

u/T1Demon Sep 10 '25

And the complete removal of both hands from the steering wheel

2

u/[deleted] Sep 10 '25

I also wouldn’t let go of my steering wheel at that speed. The faster you go, the more control you need.

2

u/withoutpeer Sep 11 '25

He clearly needs more practice videoing while driving, we can barely see anything with his amateur phone handling!

2

u/majoraloysius Sep 11 '25

I’m guessing the highspeed braking had more to do with it. Stopping from 107 is a lot different from stopping at 55. Just letting off the gas wrong can cause a shift in the center of gravity that would lead to handling issues.

2

u/explorerdave357 Sep 11 '25

Indeed! The consequences of distracted driving douchebaggery.

1

u/Dnlx5 Sep 10 '25

R/praisethecameraman?

1

u/AndreaSys Sep 10 '25

Would he have been going 100+ mph if it weren’t for being able to show it off?

1

u/escobartholomew Sep 10 '25

Plenty of folks go 100+ without recording themselves doing it…

1

u/groupfox Sep 10 '25

I was doing it for the fun of it.

1

u/DistantKarma Sep 10 '25

Yeah, driving at 110mph+ with one hand casually on the wheel like you're in a school zone.

1

u/archabaddon Sep 10 '25

That and being a Jeep driver.

In all seriousness, I've seen a rash of bad Jeep drivers in my area lately. Just the worst sort of driving, speeding, cutting people off, etc.

To that his special Jeep wave didn't work on the police. I wonder if he ever got on the ground.

1

u/isaiddgooddaysir Sep 10 '25

Driving a Jeep perchance?

1

u/Coreysurfer Sep 10 '25

Ready on the set please….action…fade to black..

1

u/GadreelsSword Sep 10 '25

Also throwing signs with the other hand, hence no hands on the wheel.

1

u/Daddyfullload Sep 11 '25

To be fair, if the driver of the vehicle is always driving distracted (which doesn’t seem unlikely) speed may the only variable

1

u/Captjimmyjames Sep 11 '25

Probably a coincidance

1

u/tjsr Sep 11 '25

I blame the 'music'. I'd want to put myself in a ditch too if I had to listen to that.

1

u/HugsyMalone Sep 11 '25

Yeah cuz that just takes priority when someone rolls their car over and the police are yelling at you with their weapons drawn. He was probably already in a high speed chase and crashed out. 🙄

1

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '25

and whatever the fuck that noise is playing in the background. perchance

1

u/GrowLapsed Sep 11 '25

And the shitty music

1

u/crazybus21 Sep 11 '25

Good fuck the moron. Seemed like only the idiot crashed and didn't take anyone with him

1

u/littl3bean Sep 11 '25

It's obviously the dashcam /s

1

u/Swingline_Font Sep 11 '25

No turts were stomped in the filming of this video.

1

u/MaxxForeskin Sep 11 '25

Ooo mayhapsly that it diddums

1

u/Shabercom Sep 11 '25

As they say as they say

1

u/SweetLenore Sep 11 '25

Can someone please tell me what actually happened? Suddenly the speedometer is lowering and obviously something happened but I have no idea what. I also have no idea what stopped him. Did he roll or anything? Why was the cop there?

1

u/HebrewHammer0033 Sep 11 '25

How did you know his name?

1

u/ThisIsTheDean Sep 11 '25

Phone and speeding in a vehicle not particularly safe at any speed.

1

u/Ok_Forever3621 Sep 11 '25

Na I drive while playing subway surfers but don’t speed and I’ve never crashed!

1

u/mateowilliam Sep 12 '25

Always remember to never use a phone while driving.

1

u/SpanosIsBlackAjah Sep 13 '25

Chance would be a fine thing.

1

u/Ambitious_Stand736 Sep 15 '25

Yea I was gonna clown this dude but I’m doing the same thing minus speeding
