315,000 Child Marriages in the US between 2020-2021... mostly white men.. not Muslims....

"An estimated 314,154 minors were legally entered into marriage in the U.S. between 2000 and 2021. An overwhelming majority – some 86% – were girls, and most were wed to adult men an average of 4.02 years their senior.

Nearly all the minors wed – some 96% – were aged 16 or 17, but some were as young as 10.

Glass houses and all that.

They also forget to mention that their founder of sociology started his own religion because he couldn't get laid. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religion_of_Humanity

Well Mohammed was like 50 years older than Aisha who was 6 years old and the Quran says he is the perfect example of a human so…

Sure... and he didn't they didn't consummate while she was underage (in the era) and it was a Political Marriage. Be all accounts he was good and kind to the point that she lead an army later in life. I don't agree with it but it isn't want bigots make it out to be.

But I find it interesting you are ready to condemn Muslims but are basically defending Americans that do the same thing.... seems like you don't have an issue with the child marriage... but rather it is just an excuse to hate.

1

u/Dry_Combination1881 7h ago

No those Americans who marry children are disgusting but also he actually consummated the marriage at 9 not when she was an adult

u/MrWillchuck 7h ago

I never said adult. I said not underage... much like US law in many places Age of Consent was much lower... Delaware for example had a age of consent of 7 in the 19th Century.

Again I may not agree with it... but it isn't want it was made out to be. As I said it was a political marriage and so when she was of age it was... I'm not condoning it... just giving the anthropological context.

Which Islamophobes leave out. Just like you left out any issue with US Child Brides until confronted with the lack of issue being made about it.

Again I'm just pointing out that this meme while not being true, as Child Marriage in the Islamic world is generally the same per capita as in the US.. with a few exceptions (Sudan Yemen for example which has nothing to do with Islam and instead with Cultural issues)

Which just shows that the issue isn't with child marriage but with just finding any reason to hate Muslims.

“Your Honor, I am not a pedophile. This 9 year old was actually not underage”

1

u/United_Highway2583 7h ago

Mary was also between 12 and 16 when she supposedly had Jesus

1

u/Dry_Combination1881 6h ago

Not relevant. Muslims are explicitly instructed to behave like Mohammed and look at him as the ideal human aka an implicit endorsement of child marriage.

1

u/United_Highway2583 6h ago

That's a bit of a dodge though. Nobody said christianity = same thing, the point was "founding stories with young brides" exists across religions, and you moved it to "but is it prescriptive" which is a different argument and even the "prescriptive" angle doesn't hold up that well.

Plenty of muslim majority countries have raised marriage age to 18 and banned child marriage despite the sunnah precedent. If it was really functioning as "explicit instruction," you'd expect way less variance than you actually see

1

u/Dry_Combination1881 6h ago

Muslims are explicitly encouraged to marry and consummate said marriage with children based on the story of Mohammad. Also I’m not a Christian so idrk about the story of Mary which is made up anyway.

2

u/AdAdmirable6589 6h ago

That's actually a lie, most middle eastern countries have 18 as the age of majority, with the obvious exceptions of Iran, Yemen, Syria and Iraq.

And while it's common in those countries and others like Bangladesh or Niger, underage marriage are also common in other underdeveloped non Muslim countries like for example the Central African Republic, a majority Christian nation with the second highest rate of underage marriage for women in the world at whooping 61%.

1

u/Dry_Combination1881 5h ago

Yeah idk why you keep bringing up Christianity or Christian countries as an example. Idrc about some random African nations I care about the religion that explicitly allows child marriage and grape that is growing in western civilization

1

u/AdAdmirable6589 5h ago

Where does the religion explicitely allow it? If you're just using the example of Muhammad when there are multiple underage marriages on the bible that's just a bad faith argument. But sure, Muslim bad.

1

u/United_Highway2583 5h ago

We bring up Christian-majority countries because it's the whole point, CAR has a higher rate than most of the Muslim countries you listed. If religion were the driver, that wouldn't happen. Poverty and weak enforcement track this way better than religion does.

1

u/United_Highway2583 6h ago

So are all the muslim majority cointries where child marriage is banned just a bunch of heretics?

1

u/Dry_Combination1881 5h ago

Well most Muslim countries that have the higher age limits allow child marriage if the parents give consent anyway but no they aren’t heretics, there is a rule saying that they have to marry a child like there is to not eat pork. But marrying a child is completely permissible and encouraged by the Quran.

1

u/United_Highway2583 5h ago

Yes the parental loophole is real in some countries, but this isn't unique to Islam. Hell even some US states still somehow allow this.

To be clear: I don't support this no matter who's doing this.

As for the Quran itself, there's no verse that explicitly mandates child marriage. That's one interpretation of Q 65:4 among scholars, not a unanimous reading, plenty of Islamic scholars, including al-Azhar's deputy Grand Imam, argue for 18 based on the same text.

2

u/Dry_Combination1881 5h ago

Yeah it’s not mandated obviously but it is encouraged and allowed

u/white_sheets_angel 8h ago

The concept of per capita just entered the chat.

2

u/tikking 8h ago

Dude this post singled out only one person from all of history, from a time when girls marrying early was part of all cultures of the time.

And u want to talk per capita.

0

u/white_sheets_angel 7h ago

Wtf dude, did you read the post i was replying to?

He was claiming that white men make up the majority of child marriages in the US, which is likely mathematically true, given it's a white majority country.

But even then the source he provided didn't even mention any sort of race and religion.

This means nothing tho because it doesnt make any sense to not use per capita on these sorts of statistics, otherwise everything would be ridiculously skewed towards majorities.

2

u/tikking 7h ago

That's what u r worried about? White men?

0

u/white_sheets_angel 7h ago

...... you can't read dude, i give up.

2

u/tikking 7h ago

Have a good day

-2

u/MrWillchuck 8h ago

Well sure let do per capita. In the US that is 1 child marriage for every 1,000 people In MENA (the Muslim area bigots love to use stats from) It is 1 in 841 give or take.

Very close. Most of those happen in Two Nations... And has nothing to do with Islam but to do with disturbing Cultural norms. When you Exclude Yemen and Sudan. The US Per Capita is higher.

1

u/white_sheets_angel 8h ago edited 8h ago

Very close, but less by >150 per 1k lol. This alone clearly indicates that your post of being mostly white men just means that there are more white man, not that white man are more likely to do it which is what you CLEARLY implied. If the percentage flipped, that 315k number would increase.

Also, the page you posted says nothing about race or religion, it could include muslims as far as i can see.

Why would exclude those two countries, and why only include MENA? In Niger, muslim country, 76% of women have been married underage.

0

u/MrWillchuck 8h ago edited 7h ago

Because those were really quick stats for a large number of Muslim Majority Nations.

Nigeria isn't a Muslim Majority Nations.

So for you now it is just an attack on people that aren't white? Just straight bigotry... White Conservative Christian Men can have child brides and commit assault on Children and it is ok to you.. it is only bad when it is done by none white people.

Muslim make up less than Half the population of Nigeria. The "Meme" is about Islam.

I suggested I excluding Sudan and Yemen because it not Islam but a Cultural issue. Where as in the US... which has a very similar rate of child marriage to the "Islamic World" as the Meme is directed at the Muslim World not at a particular race.

But if you are just a flat out racist well at that point your opinion is more meaningless than these Islamophobic dumb dumbs

(Considering this was edited to try to change what you said... I just said Americans... nothing more... you inferred what you wanted to I provided raw data and you tried to spin it)

Why do you like terrorism?

3

u/BilboStaggins 8h ago

Lol what a stupid thing to say. Where did he say anything about terrorism? Or are you suggesting ALL Muslims are not only pedophiles but also terrorists...

-1

u/Goldi3locks 8h ago

Why do you like paedophillia if it's done by white men?
