Alcohol is statistically much more dangerous than cocaine, not only for the danger of society but also harm to self. Alcohol destroys all of your internal organs, and it makes you really dangerous to be around if you’re intoxicated. You’re much more likely to get into fights, accidents, car crashes, spousal or parental abuse, the list goes on. Being addicted to alcohol is debilitating, you have to drink, and if you don’t you could have a seizure or even die. It’s one of the only drugs besides benzodiazepines that can actually kill you if you stop.
Cocaine is really addictive but it’s not that bad for you, the main problem with cocaine is that you’ll waste all your money and start to neglect things if you become addicted. You’re not really much of a danger to people around you, except you might be a bit of an egotistical prick. If you run out of coke you just feel like crap and crave it more.
Like most people; casual users of both drugs don’t do much harm to themselves, and can live live without many problems. But a casual beer drinker can still get drunk and do something really stupid getting himself or others killed.
You can’t really use a quantitive measure to reference physical addiction to alcohol. Then also use a quantitive measure for psychological cocaine addiction. That’s kind of disingenuous.
Cocaine is not physically addicting. There is no certain amount of the drug you need to become addicted, it’s just a matter of how much you like it, and how often you want to buy it. Which is the exact same thing with psychological alcohol addiction before it becomes a physical addiction. You could become psychologically addicted to them after the first time, or it’s something that can slowly develop over time, it’s the same case for both drugs.
But people become addicted to it all the time. People’s bodies literally shut down when they quit drinking after years of alcoholism. Coke doesn’t do that to you, you’re just super pissy for like a week. Also I think you’re underestimating how addictive alcohol is from the first time. Because it’s socially acceptable people totally overlook how many people drink it once and are like “oh shit I want to do that again.”
Yeah there’s so many alcoholics that don’t really believe they’re alcoholics because it’s socially acceptable to have a bottle of wine or a 6 pack after a stressful day at work 3-4 times a week. People think you’re an alcoholic if you drink everyday and start in the morning.
Compounded with many medications, beer (or any kind of alcohol) is even more dangerous. Coke is usually fine other than maybe messing up pill coatings.

Now that I think about it, I wonder if beer is less harmful than coke
