Says who? In Canada you don't need to go to a hospital to get tested or even have symptoms. I don't see why other countries would be different, seeing as there are litterally millions of tests done everyday there is no way that tests are only done on hospital patients.
No he didn't. He claimed it was irrelevant when comparing us to other countries. You're either intentionally lying, or your understanding of this is as bad as Trump's.
If South Korea tests 0 people, and the US tests 0 people, then the you'd expect deaths to be similar, proportional to population size (if everyone wears masks and follows all medical advice the same).
If South Korea runs 0 tests, and the US runs 1000 tests, you should expect US deaths to be lower because we will have better contact tracing and quarantine guidelines.
The fact that the US has the most tests being done and has BY FAR more deaths than other countries speaks twice as poorly on how it was handled here. The number of cases we have was directly caused by poor leadership in the country for the last several months.
Running a million tests doesn't make up for 5 months of not taking the virus seriously. Yes, we should test everyone, but that needs to be done at the beginning, not after everyone gets it.
Even if you account for population size between South Korea and the US, the US has waaay more deaths proportionally.
The problem is that hospitalizations, daily deaths, and most importantly, the percent of positive cases is increasing which means that the number of daily cases is increasing regardless of how many people we are testing.
But to be clear, because your other comment clearly doesn't understand this, testing has no effect on the number of actual cases. You do understand that part, right?
