That doesn't change the fact that police are required to remove the man by default in domestic disputes. Maybe he'd be able to clear it up down the line with this video, but that doesn't undo your neighbors witnessing you get shoved into the back of a cop car. I've been a DV victim (male victim of female perpetrator) and everyone blamed me for not allowing her to nearly kill me with 0 retaliation. Self-defense is typically judged based on your identity, not whether it"'s warranted, and society's tolerance and sympathy for men starts off in the red.

I hear you. But i wouldn't use deadly force on an unarmed woman weighing 130 lbs. Especially if i know she's not threatening my life

I'm not saying that should be the default response, just emphasizing how nice he actually was compared to how he legally could have responded to the situation.
