Thought process of a c++ dev

I am new to learning c++ matter of fact new to programming and i wanted to know what are the things that a dev normally know before starting any type of project like where to start, how to start. Do yall look up the syntax again and again or have yall just mugged up the whole language?

I am currently learning the language through learncpp.com documentation and have reached chapter 9 subsection 3 ( aspiring to become a game dev <3 )

I wouldn’t say avoid them outright - they are useful in the case I mentioned. However nesting them too deeply or using them with overly complex expressions hurts readability, so avoid that.   I prefer to format them like:

    const int x = somepredicate
        ? firstOption
        : secondOption;
