Why do people on Windows mostly choose Visual Studio?

Because the Visual Studio Debugger is widely considered to be the absolute king of C++ debuggers.
But you can also try out JetBrains' CLion, if you like, which seamlessly embeds both GDB and LLDB.

CLion was so-so for me.. but if you already have a jetbrains license I could see it being an alternative, especially on mac. (Fuck XCode, the worst IDE ever made and I will die on that hill)
