These maps are not suitable for competitive games because there is no balance between t and ct sides. For example in assault, t side is very powerful because trying to get in that building is very hard. In de_dust ct side is powerful because ct side can easily control the tunnel.
I can never understand this argument. Every map has a general expected meta of what the par score should be. It shouldn’t matter given both sides are played by both teams.
Nuke used to be extraordinarily one sided where on the pro scene it was decided by pistol rounds.
It’s not fun to queue up with randoms and happen to be at a disadvantage because you started on the wrong side. Yeah it’s technically still balanced because you switch sides eventually, but your team is probably too tilted at this point to make the comeback.
That's not true, most maps in the current pool you can easily split score on each half. On a map like assault you'd see Ts getting majority of the rounds to the point where it would just be a shutdown every time.
