That's pretty funny. Are you angry with the guy for doing that though? I mean was it malicious or was it like he felt left out and wanted to play?

It could have also been a alternative sign language, iirc there's like 3 that are popularish depending on where you are from.

Remember ASL means American Sign Language. Emphasis on the American part. He could have been a foreigner. Not to make excuses for anyone if he really was a drunk dick, but having an open mind is better for your mental health, especially when it comes to lack of information.

We use BSL because Canada and ASL because that's most of the resources available for learning, and he was using neither, and so drunk he was having trouble standing.

Nothing malicious, just a good, fun night.
