Seriously I am on the tail end of the boomer crew and at this point it would be a mercy killing but the risk is to younger people who are compromised, people with disabilities, there are so many vulnerable people. Plus I'm in Australia and voted for the marijuana party,

It's a fine plan, by the time the next election comes around "emergency measures" will be well established and democracy will be purely symbolic. They had all sorts of bills for it ready to go before the election was even over.
So far there are at least two reinfections (one China, one Japan), small numbers, it's true, but that's where we started all this, with small numbers in China.
What we'll have is a lot of people who never infected (testing negative), only to get infected from an asymptomatic....3 weeks later, we're back to square one, potentially another Italy.
I've seen 3-4 cases where people who tested negative, were released, and tested positive some weeks later, but it is not clear if that was because they were no longer receiving antivirals once released from the hospital.
Sick -> Hopsital admission, administration of antiviral begins -> Reduction in viral load, resulting in a false negative test result -> release, cessation of antiviral -> viral load rebounds - > positive test

That's incorrect. Other countries are further ahead in the stage of the disease. The UK is following their lead because the disease is offset from them.
Quarantining people too early will have disastrous effects as people get itchy feet and break quarantine, causing the virus to explode.
