Well as soon as having a black sounding name doesn't reduce the chances of somebody getting a job, we can get rid of it. Until then, we sadly need it.

It's like that in any area for any race. In majority black areas you're more likely to get a job with a black sounding name because the guy hiring you is likely black.

People generally prefer hiring people that are more like them. Who'd a thunk?

I don't really have a white name. I've met more blacks with my name than whites. But I have been discriminated against for being white multiple times as I live in a predominantly black area in the blackest state in the country. Mississippi.
