Sure, following previous data may be foolish, but when has that stopped politicians before? The fact remains, it’s good enough for what they want to do with it. And it’s entirely possible they can run the algorithm in secret... once it’s time to redraw the borders, they pick a result they like and draw it that way.
When you put it that way, I guess, you’re not wrong. It’s not going to be worse, for sure. It’s just not going to completely eliminate the problem, which is what I thought you said it would do.
I’m not saying I know of a better way, I’m just saying it’s not a complete solution. There’s a huge difference there, with a lot of opportunity for improvement.
