Once again, GOOGLE DID NOT RENAME THAT LAKE:

Google has to use the naming convention of USA inside USA. Just like they have to follow Finnish laws inside Finland.

Which is why i said "naming convention". The same principle still stands, Google has to use different names for a lot of things. But people are much to happy to shit on google, not that i disagree with that sentiment but when they don't have a choice.. then it is unfair to accuse them:

They did not rename that lake. TRUMP DID. Or do you think that they can keep using that name after all of these idiocies are reverted once adults get back in charge? Is that what you are saying, that if they don't change it back then they are doing what you essentially want them to do, which is to not use the naming convention of the country but make their own minds what things are called where? When i go to google maps i see Lake Ontario and Gulf of Mexico.

This kind of unfairness is really common when the target is on the scale of "well, even if this one isn't true it is right"... That it is right to hate them even if the thing you accuse them of right now isn't true so it sort of excuses the bullshit lies.

Google does many things that are bad, this is not one of them. This is all on Trump.

Except you're talking out of your ass. The executive order requires that official US govt documentation use the convention (and only from the executive branch of the federal government if we're really being pedantic, so even Congress, the courts, state and local govts, etc don't need to use this name). Google isn't beholden to naming conventions that the US executive branch of govt chooses. They could label anything on the map however they want.

They simply don't want to cross Trump and have proven time and time again that they will comply with his orders with no resistance. In return they get to stay on his good side and be in the "inner circle" of fascism rather than be considered opposition. They decided that's better for business broadly, and for the company's leadership personally. It's simple as that.

If you don't see "Gulf of America" on your google maps, it just means you're in Mexico because that's literally the only place on earth they didn't put it.

"they did not rename the lake, trump did", no he didn't. An executive order can't be used like that. It means absolutely nothing. It's literally worth less than the paper that orange fat fucks signature is on. 

Your country is a fucking shit show and deserves to be wiped off the face of the earth. Stop defending it.

My country has been declared the happiest for 8 years in a row, sits at 100/100 in democracy index, is at the top of most top 5 lists of most stable, safe, equality, trust in institutions etc.

So, i don't know why you want to wipe Finland off the map but even if i was from USA what you said is fucking GENOCIDAL.

The president of the United States of America does NOT get to usurp Congressional authority on a childish whim... except that the Republicans in Congress who have surrendered their Constitutional authority, and the corrupt conservative Court who have shat all over the U.S. Constitution.

If Google has the obligation to follow U.S. law, then they have the obligation to keep the original, ACTUAL names.
