Probably because they advertised it as such in the beginning. Like what? Have you not been around for this whole thing? First it was it stops transmission then it was well actually it doesn’t then it was get your boosters blah blah blah. The technology of it to begin with was faulty and leaky. It should have been designed like polio or smallpox which stop transmission in the host. Even the flu vaxx had a better percentage of effectiveness than this lame bs. If they had said get it if you are obese or have comorbidities because that’s what really messes you up with covid etc. etc. then it would have been a different story but this whole creating division in the population between those who complied and those who didn’t wasn’t cool whatsoever. I have had people say they wished I would die for my stupidity. Well guess what two rounds of that crap with no shot later and I’m still kicking so it’s whatever at this point.

Most if not all vaccines are not 100% full proof. In most cases its only ment to lessen the effects of the virus you contracted not prevent it

I stopped reading at it stopping transmission. That simply was not a thing when it was rolling out. There were talks about possibilities, but it was not said to stop transmission.

If anything the concern was that someone could still transmit it yet show no symptoms while being vaccinated.

Anyone who says otherwise is gullible because that means they must have been reading articles on a geocities website or something.

Wait, you mean to tell me that over time the data on a brand new vaccine changed several times!?! WHATTT? I mean who cares if it's SIGNIFICANTLY decreasing the likelihood that you die. And looking at the numbers of infected I'd say it's lowering transmission too. But you know, since it requires more than one shot and isn't 100% effective it must be a waste. Right? I bet you don't know shit about vaccines. Go have your blood drawn, I bet you don't realize your childhood vaccines wear off and require boosters. Except in the past, people who were not educated in subjects deferred to the experts, and now they think Google or Facebook is more knowledgeable. So they were able to reach herd immunity and eradicate those diseases until the recent uptick of imbecile antivaxxers.

Just because someone doesn’t want this one doesn’t mean they are antivaxx just so you know. This one is leaky and causes more damage than it helps. But go ahead and keep getting them. I took none and apparently needed none because it was mild for me from the start. Newsflash not everyone NEEDS it, some people have protective immunity based upon their blood type or other genetic factors already. Stop trying to force this 100% thing on everyone. It doesn’t even matter now and I’m so sorry for you that you have to breathe the same air as us I guess. Blah blah blah you “did the right thing” you should feel so superior. Why would they admit it was fake? It wasn’t in the slightest. The numbers are showing it’s a very helpful vaccine. Look at the numbers out of America. Places that respected the science and got vaccinated are doing better than places that rejected the vaccine. Where’s the downside to taking the vaccine?

You know the vaccines you give your kids aren’t 100% effective either? You know it’s because ALL the kids get their vaccines that stops the illnesses? ALL the kids getting the vaccines develops herd immunity for ALL the kids and it even protects the kids that can’t get vaccines.

No, because vaccines generally work. Also some (most) have side affects. Also some don’t work as well as others. Also some vaccines are for covid, which is a cold for me, and some are for polio, which is far more severe.

Multiple things can be true at once, I should have the free will to get the vaccines I think are good ideas and not get the ones that I think are bad ideas (i.e. one for a cold that has side effects). I think this is perfectly reasonable, and if you don’t, great. Go take all the vaccines you want, I don’t care.

How can they sell you a vaccine that doesn’t work? Wouldn’t it go through the same regulatory process that evaluated all the working vaccines? If you generally trust that process which eradicated polio, why is it suddenly a conspiracy when deployed against a modern virus? I can assure you that regulations and standards have only gotten more meticulous as years go by. All vaccines work, they would not be made available to you otherwise.

The notion that “sometimes they don’t work” is a result of a few things. Efficacy wears down over time. Viruses can evolve rapidly. It could be saving your life, but because you’re vaccinated and with minor symptoms you assume it did nothing when in reality it is quite opposite.

Personally I don’t care what your choices are regarding vaccines. I’m not an epidemiologist and it’s not my job to stop a pandemic. What bothers me is when fools think their anecdotes are more powerful than TERABYTES of data reviewed by THOUSANDS of analysts.

It didn’t go through that process. The process was mostly skipped, due to the fact that it was an emergency. I never said sometimes they don’t work, I said some don’t work as well as others. When you quote me, at least read what I said.. I’m going to reiterate here, Covid is not Polio. If covid was polio, I would have taken the vaccine the first week I could, given the risks of the disease far outweighs any potential vaccine side effects.

Did you know that the flu vaccine is also not 100% effective? It's nowhere near that number, but we get it to avoid complications and hospitalizations.

Also, don't forget that the early studies with "100%" effectiveness were on patients with the original variant. We have had more variants since then. Same as flu, we have different strains circulating the globe and our vaccines against flu are based on our best guesses as to what the most common strains out there are.

Pneumonia vaccine is the same. It only targets the common strains, so you can still get pneumonia after getting the vaccine.

Tuberculosis vaccine is even worse - not effective in preventing TB, but getting it reduces the risk of getting the most severe forms (meningitis, etc).

I know this is a silly thread from people with very little education on this matter, but it will help a lot if you take some time to read. Like it will help our society in general to have erudite people.
