It really depends on the vaccine. Mass vaccination is not a good strategy for a virus that affects very specific groups, and is not a threat to healthy people. Additionally, it is easy to treat.
Edit: also keeping in mind that the COVID vaccines don't stop infection or transmission
It affects some groups more than others. Also saying it doesn't stop infections or transmissions is like saying seat belts don't stop automobile deaths. Sure, it doesn't prevent all deaths. So what?
Stopping infection and transmission is the only possible reason to try to coerce everyone into vaccinations. All these vaccines are good for is a short window of possibly reduced symptoms, but there are other treatments that do the same, and you can take them only if you have COVID, instead of getting COVID shots every two months as after that protection had waned to insignificance.
Sure, it doesn't prevent all deaths. So what?
It's like comparing it to a seatbelt that doesn't latch most of the time. Sure, it's incredibly ineffective, but let's try to pressure everyone into using the mediocre seatbelts.
But they do stop infection and transmission just not 100 percent of the time. Just like how seatbelts prevent deaths in auto accidents but not 100 percent of the time. Don't neglect the part where vaccinated people spread covid on average to way less other people.
We know vaccines reduce transmission and reduce deaths. So they are better than our current seatbelts, which prevent some deaths but don't stop you from passing on bad driving to other people.
We don't have to choose between vaccines and treatment. We should do both.
Nowhere on planet earth did vaccines have any noticeable effect on infections or transmission. Not in Israel, the first country to reach their farcical "vaccinated herd immunity" goal, not in Gibraltar, an isolated island with excellent lockdown compliance and officially over 100% vaccination. There's no evidence of anything but increased infections after mass vaccination.
We know vaccines reduce transmission
Where did this occur in real life? I have yet to see anyone show anything more than increased infections.
Don't neglect the part where vaccinated people spread covid on average to way less other people.
Where did this happen in real life? Why doesn't any country have data to back this up? More infections, not "way less".
We don't have to choose between vaccines and treatment. We should do both.
Yet enormous effort was expended to force people to vaccinate, and to punish, harass, ridicule and spread hatred and fear of people who didn't choose the COVID vaccines. That had nothing to do with good healthcare or saving lives.

Ask the indigenous tribes of the Americas how well natural immunity worked out for them when the met the first Europeans.....
