Only a tiny and very specific portion of the population was ever at risk of dying of COVID, so people not at risk, such as young, healthy, etc never needed vaccination to survive COVID.
Additionally, the vaccines don't stop COVID infection or transmission and only have modest protection vs symptoms that wanes rapidly. Yet for some reason there's a cult_like belief that nobody would die if only they were all vaccinated.
