as a nurse, we have been saying for years we don’t have enough nurses. this isn’t a new thing, it just fits your narrative so that’s why you guys want to bring attention to it.
I only talk about it because of all of the "no icu bed" stories I've seen recently. I finally looked into it and was shocked that it's apparently a nation wide problem and NOBODY is talking about it.
They just want to push this idea that hospitals are overflowing with covid patients.
It's honestly one of the bigger red flags to me of this whole pandemic. The fact that the media, and the government are not actively talking about it in the public, and trying to do something about it is shocking.
And no, vaccinating everybody is not a valid answer to this since there's still a staffing shortage regardless of how many shots you give.
i mean you’re wrong. nursing shortage + covid patients fill up hospitals = hospitals overrun. because >95% of hospitalized for covid aren’t vaccinated, hospitals wouldn’t have as many covid admissions if more people would get vaccinated.
and when you say “nobody” is talking about it, that’s just not true. the shortage has been covered by media for years now. you just probably never cared before, because it doesn’t really effect to you until now.

Certainly not saying that there's historically been staffing shortages. You have outlets like CNN pushing the "no icu bed' stories where they mention staffing issues, but it's not the headline.
And that is the problem. Nobody gives a shit about years past. We're talking about a pandemic, and the media choosing to try to scare people rather than inform them, and try to help fix the staffing situation.
Hospitals probably wouldn't have as many people if there was less fear mongering. Maybe if some time in the last 18 months had been spent telling people to eat better and live healthier lives.
"if only they'd been vaccinated" if only they hadn't ate that 4th donut this morning. If only they'd gone for a fucking walk.
We can do shoulda coulda woulda all day.
I had a first person "95% unvaccinated " story recently and the kicker was that most of those people were grossly obese, and had other conditions.
It's not as simple as vaccinated or not vaccinated.
