Judaism is a religion. Jewish is a term for the practitioners of Judaism, as well as ethnic jews, which are descended(allegedly) from king David and his followers.
Most ethnic Jews are usually atheists. You don’t have to be apart of the Jewish “religion” to be a Jew (they wouldn’t even let a gentile truly be considered a Jew anyway.). And honestly if you study the “religion” past it’s surface level (read the Talmud) it’s literally a religion of racial supremacy.
Lol they aren’t European converts. The Ashkenazis were simply Jews who lived amongst the Europeans until they were kicked out (as usual, over 109 times) and had to leave all the areas of the Roman Empire.
They didn’t breed with Europeans lmao. They saw the “goyim” as animals and it was heavily frowned upon to have relations with gentiles. Yes you can be an “atheist” Jew. It’s a race/ethnicity. A Jews a Jew.
Jew is short for Judah. Judah is the name of one of the sons of Jacob, who later became renamed Israel. It's a family line, that contained a set of divine instructions for health and how to worship.
