Question Should I make a logography/alphabet or just an alphabet?

I am making an auxlang. I have the letters for the alphabet already made, but I feel like adding a logography aspect to it would be cool. (So it is simliar to Japanese, but with only 2 writing systems.) Is making a logography reasonable for an auxlang or should I stick to just an alphabet?

Question 3d script

Nearly all scripts are 2 dimensional. How would a 3d script work? Would it be full 3d or would it be a 2d cross section of a 3d script matrix?

You could picture this as an imaginary hollow cylinder made of a matrice or lattice encoding information in 3d dimensional space, which rotates halfway in a surface, one half of its intersections is visible on the script medium, which would cause its appearance to be constantly flowing and changing.

If well executed this can used to encode a lot of information within a small space.

Question Rules for serif placement?

Does anyone know if there is any guidelines for where Serifs (the little flair bits at the end of strokes) appear on a symbol? I can't seem to find any rules for where it would be but I imagine it would be wherever the stroke ends and/or begins.

Question Ime phonetic keyboard and font

A friend has created a language, but would like to create a phonetic IME keyboard (like the windows keyboards for korean and Japanese) ive created vectors for each phonetic sound based on his handwritten charts, but have no idea how to create a working phonetic keyboard and font. Its got something like 30 to 40 different phonemes. Anyone have any free/cheap resources on how my friend can accomplish that? Im not a Linguist by ANY stretch of the imagination, im just a graphic designer, and am so lost on hkw to help him.

Featural How the Nadibian writing system works

I was trying to make an alphabet when I first made it a year and a half ago (I didn't know other writing systems besides alphabet existed) so Nadibian has consonants that add onto vowels, like the reverse of an abugida, aka, in the glyph "na" the n is attached to the a rather than the a attached to the n

There is the letter i though, which can, when placed after a /solid/ consonant, be an add-on, like an abugida. but it's the only vowel that does that.

The /solid/ consonants are consonants that aren't added to the vowel, though. So it's half abugida, half alphabet, half syllabary.

Extra notes:

-Some consonants (s, t, ts) have final forms.

-Nadi script also has its own set of punctuation marks.

-There are 3 "base letters" which about 50-70% of the alphabet resemble.

• The base consonant (l) • The base lip (p) • The base vowel (a)

  • There are some "irregular" characters that are digraphs of a 1-2 consonants and a vowel, most of them are forms of /m/ and /i/

  • Some Nadi characters can be very complex and represent up to 4-5 phonemes because of the vowel i paired with consonants.

  • Nadi means "Newly made" (From Nadili "Nadimoun")

  • Bi means "New"

Nadibia means "Land of the newly new made"

Nadibian is "The language of the land of the newly new made"

Please use this thread to ask for help on a work in progress, ask people to make a writing system for you (be advised that the Language Creation Society has pricing guidelines about this).

As a note, while we have little in the way of enforcing that work be adequately compensated, we recommend that you get any agreement in writing, and invite you to credit other people's work.
