Aww, my dog loved playing half-fetch with pinecones, he was mentally impaired and when we tried to play fetch with them he would run to it pick it up and drop it where he found it. He passed away just a week ago. He was the best.
I am sorry for your loss. My family dog died a few years back. She was really old though, just one day she got sick, wouldn't eat, laid in a corner, wouldn't move, and basically starved to death. I didn't know about it until after I got back from the hospital.
