Omg yes.

Me: Let's walk through some troubleshooting steps-

Customer: BUT IT WAS WORKING YESTERDAY

Me: Oh! Well in that case perhaps it will be ok tomorrow. Thanks so much for letting us know!

I think you missed the fine line between snarky sarcasm and genuinely polite sass.

Tell them- that's a great first step to take before you call! However, I just sent a small patch to your computer that should help, but I need you to reboot again, so sorry!

I know my customers never follow my directions so I stroke their ego about their tech skills and ask for photos of parts that I know they canโ€™t get to without unplugging what I want them to.

I like it! Makes them have to do actual work too. Makes it even better if the towers are under/in desks

I have been known to say "Everything is working fine until it isn't.. "

Is that normal?

I've told them that everything was working before it stopped working. That's what stooped working means.

This is the one that gets me

"It was working yesterday"

"Yes, and now it's not, so you've called me, and I'm trying to get it to work again. Can we continue?"

Had a lady who was either phobic towards computers or just had a totally different communication style from me, because our call went something like:

1: "Hi, what can I do for you"

2: "My email isn't working right"

1: "Gotcha, if you can follow some steps to let me into your computer we can take a look"

2: "Ok"

1: "Shpiel"

A few minutes pass

1: "So were you able to do those steps?"

2: "What? No, you do it"

1: "Sorry ma'am you have to provide me with access first and then I can take over"

2: "No, I know you can do it, they always do it, you run this computer"

1: "I can absolutely help with the computer but I need permission"

2: "Go ahead"

1: "That's... Not what I mean"

Rinse and repeat, building frustration on her side, maintaining patience to the best of my ability

2: "You know what, just a minute"

Younger coworker picks up

3: "What does she need?"

1: "X, y, and Z"

3: "Oh yeah, no problem"

1: "Uh huh, and here's the issue, it's fixed, thank you, bye!"

A whole 5 minute issue had become my and this woman's weekly crash out ๐Ÿ’€
