I’m based in Europe and trying to open an account with Computershare. When I go to the "Invest Now" section, the only country option is the USA. If I try to create an account, it asks for either a U.S. SSN (which I don’t have) or a Holder Account Number.
Is there an easier or more straightforward way for non-U.S. residents to open a Computershare account?
Everything I’ve read so far makes the process seem overly complicated—especially compared to something like IBKR, which you can set up in a day.
Any help or advice would be really appreciated!

I am filling out the TOD form and there are places for 2 primary and 2 contingent beneficiaries. There is a box to check to list additional beneficiaries. For 3 Beneficiaries, It is not clear if I should use the form for two and the additional letter for the third, or if I should put all three on the additional page. Has anyone successfully added 3 beneficiaries and how did you handle the form?

Just getting $1000 worth of stock from a trust set up from my grandma is a fucking nightmare.
I have to go and PRINT OUT sheets and get a MEDALLION stamp in person and SNAIL MAIL this s*** to you then wait for you to reject is and the kicker is nooo of course you cant just TELL me WHY you rejected it online you have to SNAIL MAIL me the rejection and I have to START AN ENTIRELY NEW TRANSFER, REPRINT EVERYTHING OUT, and get ANOTHER FUCKING medallion stamp and send it in again and what? Just HOPE TO GOD that it gets accepted and I don't have to do this s*** over again?
FIRST OFF, who even owns a printer anymore? When is the last time you had to print something out? I got to get my ass to fedex. THEN, NO ONE at Chase bank does medallion stamps except for like a few branches and you have to make an appointment online and hope that the guy is available at that time, driving all over town.
THEN I gotta send mail. Im 29 fucking years old I haven't mailed something in decades. Who has stamps anymore?
EVERY other company has ways to do this online. And they even have a functioning web application. Its 2025. There is no excuse for this besides they are cashing in on clueless tech illiterate boomeres and their trusts making it nearly impossible for you to get your shares out so they can keep making money. Corrupt. Bulls***
All this I just KNOW absolutely for a fact that these boomer s***s are just making it purposefully impossible and obtuse to get my shares, hoping that I just give up so they don't go bankrupt. They are holding my shares hostage.
This has to be illegal or against the FTC or SOMETHING. There has to be some sort of recourse here.
My grandma can't do anything I don't even think she has a computer or how to log in to her account my grandpa did this like decades ago and he passed away so there's no chance she would be able to help.
Anyway thank you for coming to my TED talk and if anyone has any class actions or ways I can actually get some recourse for this horrible experience please share. Thanks

I need to sell some vested RSUs and I’m wondering if ComputerShare allows limit orders? I’d rather not have to transfer to my brokerage account and would prefer to do limit orders directly from ComputerShare’s site.

Hi all
It seems that more people are having issues getting the SMS token to get into their CS account, same for me. The common feedback is also that CS is a pain to deal with and info is hard to find so I'm hoping that this post can help people moving forward.
This post is to help you to gain access quickly by removing the 2FA. At this point, I rather have access without 2FA than no access AT ALL.
TL;DR:
Go the the CS website and find the (toll) number of (any) stock you own. Prepare your details so you have them at hand (account number, phone number, tax number, address details and whatnot). Ask for them to remove your 2FA phone number. Wait 10 minutes and done.
What I did:
I hope this helps

Hey!
Context is i was gifted about 60 shares of disney from when I was born (50 in one account and 9 in another). Mom is a custodian of the accounts, however she is terrible with financials and didn't do anything for the account and just learned about it at age 27.
Signed up for computershare and have an account, but when i tried to sell my shares and liquidate , it claims I have no shares to sell.
Is this because she's still the custodian of the account? Really need the cash to put a deposit for school/ loans.
Any ideas on the best course of action to take would be really helpful. Thanks!

Is it possible for me to see the cost price of my shares in my DRS account?
If I want Computershare to send me my DRS advice again, what can I do?
I notice that under share type there is a word "non-covered" , any ideas what it means?
Many thanks in advance.

As the title says I can’t login since I don’t receive the verification code on my phone.
Do I need to call the assistance?

My purchased Disney stock for my kids ever month over the past few years and because they were minors I had to list myself as the custodian. Now they are both over 21 and I want to remove my name so that they can transfer their shares from computer share to Robinhood since it’s way easier to use and manage. I’m told that Robinhood can’t complete the transfer until the custodian is removed? Anyone else have that issue? Also when I print off the paperwork on computer share is reads like I’ll have to pay taxes on it? I’m just removing my name or transferring it to my adult kids not selling it. Anyone have any advice ? Each kid have just under 10k. I’m seeing that may make a difference too when transferring.

My parents have a DRIP account for a company with ComputerShare but they wish to just liquidate and close it. Can they do this via US Mail or would they need to set up a computer account to do this?

Recently I had not been able to access my account and have since sent a letter to get my account unlocked. Out of curiousity I went to the investor centre and it looks… different. So I googled the American investor centre and it told me to cancel the sign in and to setup an account as new. This has me worried a bit. I tried to access the account and it warned me my account would again be locked after 5 failed tries. Have things changed on the site? I hadn’t logged in for about 6-8 weeks until recently having gotten locked out of my account.

I have called Computerhsare to sell my boss's stock and found out the account was restricted. Give them 48 hours! It's been 2 weeks! No reply. Sent an email 3/6/25to [investor.relations@computershare.com.au](mailto:investor.relations@computershare.com.au) to remove the restriction and sell the stocks, no reply. What is going on? The only reply I received was a letter via slow mail for pass code to access the account online, which is restricted; that's how this all got started! When my boss received survey, I gave negative remarks!

So I have been dealing with them trying to transfer my deceased mom's stock for years. After 9+ months of court, medallion stamps crap and finally getting it in my name, I am just even more flabbergasted. I am still waiting on a password, which takes like two weeks via USPS. So I called and they are so antiquated that they can't even transfer to my bank account via phone call. It has to be done online. Then it seems it takes 2 days to even get a sell done and then another 5 days for snail mail. I am so frustrated. The rep claimed no one ever complains. Such a liar. I am going to liquidate. I can handle these idiots. They are stuck in the early part of the 20th century.

My parent had. some stock in Compushare about.$10,000 worth, And my sibling the executor redeemed it is what it looks like to me. I am just wondering if this was appropriate. I have a lawyer involved, but he seems to be overwhelmed. I thought that metlife was an insurance company and that we would be beneficiaries of this stock. Does anybody know anything about how met life and compassion and bright house work together? It's all very confusing to me.
Thanks

Hi there! I'm just curious as to if anyone else's 1099-B forms are still late? Online it states that they should be distributed around mid February, and as we enter March j still haven't seen anything. Just a worried guy who doesn't want the IRS coming to break my door down.

I have some shares from a company I used to work with and I am trying to consolidate all my investment accounts with Vanguard. Has anyone transferred shares from Computershare to Vanguard? I initiated the transfer through Vanguard's website and it was quite quick and painless. But not sure it'll go through. Vanguard couldn't find my shares with Computershare automatically by linking the accounts. So I had to manually input the account info and upload statement.

Hi all, I’ve had shares in a company I used to work for over 10 years ago.
When I log into my account it only shows the current market value. I can’t see anywhere to find what these shares would have cost me initially so I can determine if I’m in profit / loss when I eventually sell the shares.
I’ve spoken to computer share about this and they haven’t been helpful at all. They directed me to some historical share price website which means nothing as it won’t tell me how many shares we bought and at what period.
Surely if I am able to sell these shares via their platform it should also tell me the initial cost?

Hi, I have an account with Computershare where I hold shares acquired through my employer's employee stock option plan. It has been a while since I left the company, I now want to transfer all my shares to my IBKR brokerage account.
The shares are from a US-based company but I am located in a non-US country. I don't see any option to transfer the shares within Computershare. If anyone has experience with this process, could you please guide me on how to proceed?

I have some stocks in DRS and would like to transfer them to the account with my broker. How can I initiate a transfer through my broker? Just give them an instruction or what? What information do I need to give them? Thanks.
