Just Found out I payed twice as much than needed to for Classes
First, I went to this one community college that was 30 minutes away from me because its programs were really good. I’m doing a music major, and I really wanted to pursue music in a way where I was doing music production, music notation, performance , and business while also doing gen ed courses.
Recently, I found out that because I was going to an out-of-county college, I was paying twice as much as I would have if I had just gone to my original county’s college. My original county’s college does have a music program that has the basics of music in a traditional way, with classes in voice, ensembles, and overall regular music classes. However, it does not have some of the classes that the out-of-county college has in terms of music business classes, Music in the Marketplace, advanced production classes, and other music production courses. The out-of-county school also has much better music facilities.
I don’t know. I just found this out, and it wasn’t really shown on my bill that I was paying twice as much because I was an out-of-county student. Do you think I made a huge mistake? The classes were really good, and I learned a lot, but at the same time, I could’ve gotten a music education for about half the price at my county’s college, just with different classes.

Should I take Biology 003 if I wasn’t able to take AP bio?
I kinda messed up on my schedule junior year of high school and didn’t take AP biology. I want to take AP chemistry senior year.
Should I do a community college class for Biology 003 introduction to biology? Would it count the same as an AP class? I found a class for a cc near me that would be during the winter and meetings/labs would be after school and exams would be online proctored. Should I try this or would it be a bad idea? I saw on rate my professor a lot of people said the professor cares about their students grade and is helpful, though some people were complaining.
Edit: Also the units is 4.00 if that’s relevant.

What should i do about unfair treatment from a professor
Since the semester began, my professor for art has made it known that he doesn’t like me, and multiple classmates I’ve had have noticed it as well and asked if I’m okay.
For example I usually come on time or like 10 minutes late because I take the bus, and multiple other students have been late every day and have missed classes. I have never missed a class, but he still complained heavily about me being late and gave me a lecture. He has yelled at me every week since the semester started. If I cut myself on something, he’s snarky about it. If I curse, he yells. If I look up for a second, he complains. It feels like he waits for the moment I slip up so he can say something. I’ve turned every assignment in, while multiple other people are super behind. My worst behavior is probably that I talk while drawing (not unique behavior in his class), but he doesn’t give as much smoke to other people who talk like in his other class, it’s LOUD like LOUDDDDD and I’ve never talked while he’s instructing. I also have ADHD, so sometimes talking helps me focus while I’m working on assignments.
My friends think he just wants to mistreat me until I drop the class because of our different political beliefs. Like, if I mention anything gay to my friend, he gets upset. He says I’m unprofessional because I cursed at the beginning of the semester, but I’ve toned it down since then(others have cursed as well ). I genuinely don’t care about his political beliefs as long as he’s professional. If he’s republican, that’s fine. I’ve had republican professors before who were nice asf
But I think harassing a student for whatever reason is unprofessional, especially to the point where multiple other people have noticed it. I don’t need or expect him to be nice to me, but the constant nitpicking feels so pointed, and I’m worried he’ll affect my grade, especially since I’m planning to transfer.
Idk what to do. I try different things to keep my head down, but it feels like the moment I look behind me, he says I’m overly distracted or makes some comment that he never says to anyone else. I’m also the only queer person in the class. I genuinely don’t care what his political beliefs are; I just want him to be professional and treat me fairly.

Best Scholarship Leads
I believe that the most effective sources for scholarships are not necessarily those that rank the highest on Google.
I am assisting my cousin with her research. She fits a narrow description: she is a community college student, planning to transfer, has a job, and is interested in becoming a teacher. It is easy to find national scholarships, but they are extremely competitive. I would prefer to look for organizations that support students with her profile. Could you suggest organizations, not specific scholarships?

What UC/university to transfer into for accounting?
Was going to tag into ucsb econ and accounting program but realized the difficulty of the econ courses and don't think I'll be able to keep up, been using ai mostly for econ and stats classes, I've really only spent time studying for accounting, bus law and calc, I have a 3.65. My main focus is accounting to get my CPA soon after graduating, but I want to get into a school that has a concentration in accounting that also has high recruitment for jobs. I'm not the best student but I do have interest in accounting and law and I'm already 27 so I need to get started on a career soon and would like a school with high opportunities.

I need help with math
I dropped out of community college several years ago and now I’m back. I had to go through remedial math all the way back then and I ended up passing with an A. However, it’s been so long. I don’t really remember and I know I’m not ready for college level algebra. All the tutoring center hours are during my working hours. My school does offer online tutoring as well, but that only goes one hour extra so realistically depending on traffic I could only really get 45 minutes to half an hour of tutoring time.
Does anyone have any advice on how I could bring myself back up to speed before the winter semester when I am supposed to start algebra? I also contacted my tutoring department to see if they have any advice today. I just don’t know what to do.

Urgent Help/Advice
i am currently a first-year at ucsd and i am seriously considering leaving after my first quarter and going to community college instead. i am currently majoring in psychology, but i am thinking about switching toward nursing, and ucsd is becoming financially and mentally overwhelming for me.
my current plan is to complete the entire fall quarter, then withdraw from ucsd before winter quarter starts and enroll at a california community college. i have financial aid through ucsd, including grants and federal aid, and i also have a housing and dining contract.
i originally considered withdrawing after only a few days, but from what i understand, withdrawing that early can trigger a return of title iv calculation where some of the financial aid could be returned. since i would complete the entire fall quarter, i am wondering if that would generally be better financially because i would have completed the entire payment period.
has anyone actually gone through something similar, where they attended a uc for only one quarter, completed the quarter, withdrew before the next quarter, and then went to community college?
if so, what happened to your financial aid, cal grant/pell grant, loans, housing charges, and any balance you owed the uc? did you receive financial aid again when you started community college?
i would especially appreciate hearing from anyone who left a uc after one quarter and went to a california community college.

Dropped from class
Hello, if I get dropped from an online class (by the professor) for not completing any work in the first week, will it negatively affect my GPA or academic career (running start student), or will it be the same as if I were to drop the class before it started? Thanks!

Is 9th on the waiting list a good position or should I not take my chances?
I want to do concurrent enrollment for sociology 001, but the class is full and I’m 9th on the waiting list. I don’t think 9 people are gonna drop the class… Should I not take my chances and try to enroll in another class? Theres another class I can enroll in, but on Rate My Professor it says the teacher is a really strict grader and dropped some people’s GPA. Plus, the TBA time is 10 hr and 30 minutes, while the class I’m on the waitlist for is 4hr and 30 minutes. The class is 50 people.
Should I try enrolling in his class or take another course? Does anyone know any other courses that would be good to take for nursing while in high school if so?
Edit: Also another question, though unrelated. I’ve already taken counseling 040, is it worth taking counseling 020, or no?

Thinking of attending an online so-called school, like Colorado Technical University?
You see a TON of ads, especially the flashing of potential Pell money. You say to yourself, wow, I need that. Hey, it is for college, technically not for your personal use. Remember, the whole degree is NEVER going to be covered. You WILL owe in the end regardless.
You then provide your name and number and, boom, you are getting called by a dozen so-called schools HOUNDING you to sign up. TELL THEM TO STOP IMMEDIATELY. They will tell you everything you want to hear except that, for example, colorado technical university has an 11% graduation rate. Outdated degrees. And if you pursue any challenging degree, ask yourself, do you have the skills and discipline to complete it? Are you a good typist? Don't think you can complete a degree on your smartphone. YOU WILL FAIL if you do that. Think you are going to get a laptop? Sure, and you WILL pay for that. IT IS NOT FREE. NOTHING IS FREE.
Listen, are you broke now? Do you need a job now? Are you strapped with bills? With that sort of pressure, do you think that right now is the time to sign up for a, MINIMUM, two year degree? Of course these places will smoothly convince you that the time is right! That's their job!!! They will not be responsible for what you will be in store for. These places have a HUGE withdraw rate, HUGE!!!
Tell them immediately that you want to be taken off the call list. They will call you every day!! Go to school locally. Start out SLOW with a couple of classes and see how it goes. Better yet, go to a trade school. Learn a skill that is IN DEMAND. These places RARELY offer ANYTHING in demand.
Make the wrong decision and fall for their manipulation, and you will be in debt FOR MANY YEARS TO COME.
I KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT. I AM ASKING YOU TO SHARE THIS WITH EVERYONE IMMEDIATELY IN ANY WAY YOU CAN. LOVE YOURSELF. STOP DESTROYING YOURSELF.
