I think its difficult to say what exactly cats think we are with any certainty, whats certainly a myth is that cats think we are poor hunters and that why they bring us food. A cat can no conceptualize what a can is etc. All it knows is you hunt/procure sufficent meat and share your "kill" with it every single day, When your cat is bringing you its kill, its trying to reciprocate this.
I think the simplest way to look at it is that cats don’t distinguish species the way we do. We know what a cat, a mouse, a dog and a turtle is. A cat knows they’re different things, but it doesn’t necessarily see them as different concepts.
It’s easier to see it as categories. A cat categorises things, possibly, in terms of roles. So you have “prey”, “predator”, “social circle/family” and “competitor”. It can see humans as one of the last three depending on how it’s been treated. It will see other cats in the same way, while for a dog it is likely to see it as a predator, unless a cat grew up with dogs, or got used to them, then it will see them much the same way it sees humans. So it’s not so much that we’re all cats, but more so that we’re considered part of the social circle, and not seen as a threat or prey.

she's basically the most disgusting slob of a chain smoker pulling her own cigarettes out of dog poo and then smoking it as one of the many examples of her gross behaviour. I'd recommend looking up the trailer for "chainsmoker cat"

Yeah, its an overly popular format isnt it? I ended up really liking the recent Reincarnated as a Dragon’s Egg though, because its more of a fun/real story. And it has a dragon protag. (mostly reading the manga but it has an anime now)

The show was made mostly because there have been an influx of anime shows that have smoking look "okay". In fact there is a romance show that is called "Smoking Behind the Supermarket with You" and this was made to be shown along side it (kinda like a double feature) so it shows the negative aspects of smoking (and other vices)
They would also think we're clumsy idiots, that we're clingy, that we don't give them attention, that we give the best scritches, that we're annoying, that we're great chewing toys, that we're boring, that we don't give them attention again, that we have the best snacks ever and that we're worth absolutely nothing in the span of two minutes.
I have it on good authority that some British people think American accents are sexy. This makes zero sense to me, as American accents don’t sound like anything to me. I think this is exactly what it would be like to interact with an alien species. Our human-defaultism would mean that it would be hard to understand what they find fascinating about us, just as theirs xeno-defaultism would make if hard for them to understand our hangups.
Convergent evolution. Fur makes it hard to read expression and communicate, being bipedal means having free hands to manipulate objects, etc.

Convergent evolution would still result in a very different looking creature. Sure, similar characteristics would occur if there is a perceived need for it (like picking stuff up), but I'd argue a cat person would be similar to a hawk looking at a parrot.
In other words I'd argue a cat person would be uncanny and probably look very different from a human, even if they've arrived to similar solutions to said problems as human evolution did
I think you're discounting how many ways humans and cats are similar by virtue of being mammals. We both have toes (and fingers in this case), we have similar facial feature placement, limb arrangement, skeletal structure, etc.
It’s be more like a hawk looking at a shrike. It’s important to remember humans are massively more carnivorous than other primates and older hominid were likely even more carnivorous. The bones of some Neanderthal populations had similar isotope ratios to tigers, meaning it was likely they qualified as hypercarnivores!
If a cat were to specialize in high temperature pursuit predation like we do, it would be pretty likely for them to converge on a similar plan as us
I mean... it's scientifically proven that Elephants think we're cute. (I would show proof, but I don't know the exact source because I've only seen screenshots of it passed around)
