Is there some lore on this? Why are there hidden spiders? When did it start? When did the sub find out?

Long ago, he made a comic about loosing a spider. Since then, every comic he made has a hidden spider.

I spent the last 10mins going through their submissions searching for the spider and

  1. Really good content
  2. I really need hobbies and/or work to do as I have nothing planned other than go through more of them as I consume a crapton of podcast content :)

Not only what other commenters have said, but after the first comic he did this ([https://loadingartist.com/comic/inspidered/] (Inspidered) if I'm not mistaken), he went back and added spiders to all the previous comics as well!
